That’s so kind, thank you.

It’s 4am here, unfortunately I’ve just woke up having a panic attack. I’m finding hard to calm down hence why I’m on here.
I have a horrible overwhelming sense of dread that Sunny is dead somewhere.

This isn’t exactly the first time he has flown off for the day. I don’t know what’s the matter with me.

Hanna,

I get those feelings from time to time. Very seldom is anything wrong. Prayers sent that everything is okay with Sunny.

Boys will be boys Hannah...I used to do the same to my parents when I was his age..he'll be around in the morning demanding breakfast!

Nothing, you love him and with love comes worry.

I agree with David, you are a breath of fresh air. I also look forward to your updates.

Take some deep breaths and relax. He may have found himself a friend or friends? A new flock to learn the ropes of wildlife?

Think positive thoughts instead fo negatives ones. Negative thoughts are paralyzing.

Oh Hannah, dearly hope your feelings of dread are borne of the panic attack, not a "mother's intuition." Sunny seems quite capable, so let us hope he will return this morning and eagerly greet you.

Please let us know how this develops!

Dear Hannah. Just breathe. We’re all here for you.

Oh Hannah I hope our favourite “big scary eagle” comes back from his walkabout real soon. Maybe even with a gorgeous new girlfriend in tow :)

How are you managing today, Hannah? We are all filled with empathy and hoping Sunny pays a visit today.

Hello everybody!
And now everyone can sigh a breath of relief!.. Sunny is fine!
I haven’t personally seen him myself, but the young girl at the farm text me when I was at work this morning to say that Sunny is back and she gave him some food :D He didn’t stop by tonight but that’s totally fine, he’s obviously very pre-occupied flirting with the females and having lots of fun with the wildies.

I’m so so sorry about my previous panicky messages. My anxiety has been lurking around a little bit the past couple of weeks for no apparent reason. Then this week, in the space of 2 days we had 2 separate tragic horse deaths. The morning of the first horse, who was dying in front of our eyes Sunny was pestering me, it wasn’t the time or place while 3 of us were crying and desperately trying to get a vet out while comforting the horse. I shut Sunny is his aviary, the about an hour later when the horse passed away (Vet never made it in time) I let Sunny out. He followed me to the yards and then flew off. That was the last I saw of him. So naturally, when he didn’t return by the next day I was sad that our last time together I didn’t pay him any attention. When we found the 2nd horse passed away in her paddock I just wanted Sunny to cuddle and talk too. I really wasn’t that worried, He’s flown off for a few days plenty of time before. I tried telling myself he was fine.
But in the early hours of the morning I woke up totally overwhelmed with everything that had been going on, and while in a state of sadness and stress I convinced myself Sunny was dead and I had a panic attack.

Things can only get better from now on.
Thank you everyone for wishing Sunnys safe return

I am ready for Sunny to be free and wild. He just choose his timing badly lol.
I’m sure, and hope I see him tomorrow so I can give him a big, much needed kiss.

Hannah, you poor, poor thing! I'm so sorry to hear of the awful time you've been having! Do you know what caused the horses' deaths? Were they related, I wonder? I hope the vet managed to get there eventually and put your mind at rest: you must've been beside yourself! Non-horse people don't understand how confronting and scary it is to watch a large animal die. They're so big and strong (and beautiful), you just don't cope with it the way you're able with a smaller creature. So, of *course* you had a panic attack! I hope you're not alone - has your partner made it back home yet? Do try and be gentle with yourself and understand that certain things will take a huge toll and you're only one small person.

Sending warmest hugs tonight and grateful thanks that our Sunny's fine. XXXX

Bittersweet news Hannah..Never have owned a horsey but I have rode a few in my time...magnificent creatures they are.
Hugs to you!

Thank you for your kind words Bertrisher. The horses deaths weren’t related, sadly the first horse was a child’s beloved riding Brumby. It’s a mystery with him, we are thinking either an internal bleed or a seizure perhaps. He was acting a bit off late evening and then In the morning he collapsed and was breathing rapidly with his tounge out, eyes glazing over etc. Never seen anything like it. Owner decided just to bury him asap rather than send him away to find out. 2nd horse the next day was a sweet wild, un-handled Brumby who came in from the wild pregnant at the start of the year. Looks like she died trying to give birth overnight:(
If it was one of my personal horses I don’t know how I’d cope. It’s sad enough being any of the horses on the farm, and especially so suddenly.

My partner isn’t back from house sitting yet:rolleyes: not long now though.

I'm so happy to hear about Sunny's return.

I'm heartbroken over the horses. :smile016:

I had a Palomino Quarter Horse back in the day. He was my love.
So, I'm feeling your pain.
