Wow your baby is growing up snd getting BIG very BIG....huge difference in a couple of weeks...Fab pics of an Adorable baby, big baby ...Kalani is Beautiful :)

Thank you! As he goes out of the super cute stage, he is becoming more and more magnificent, so no complaints here! The breeder said he is going to be a big bear of a bird, so by green wing standards, you know that's big!

I'm new to this place, and just noticed this thread...
WOW!
You have taken me back 32 years to the days when I first got my baby Patagonian. I was brand new to birds (unlike you) and it was quite the adventure. I remember times when I would just sit and stare sat him, wondering what would happen next, what mistake I might make, what he might do or think or need. In the decades that followed, times were good and bad and in-between, but he was a constant. Now, he's supposedly approaching his species-expectancy, but hey... he's as beautiful and busy as ever. Who knows? I show a lot more age than he does. Dang parrot. ANYWAY, I wish you well in your new life, and I thank you for letting me re-experience that early excitement and anticipation. Brilliant threads, and beautifully done, and beautifully followed. I'm a fan.

(oh, and the Rickeybird, too)

Thanks so much for your kind words. I have seen a few of your posts, and LOVE seeing people with older birds. I wish everyone could be so committed to their pets.

Watching him grow is definitely fun, but I am so ready for him to be home!

I completely understand how READY you are!
And... we'll be watching!

As mentioned a couple times earlier in the thread, I have been house hunting. The previous house I posted about wasn't in the best of shape. I've been under contract for another house since May 22. If everything continues to go smoothly, I should be in by mid July. (Kalani comes in late August).

Those pictures take my BREATH away!!!!

Thank you both so much. It means a lot. This is an incredibly exciting (and slightly stressful) time in my life. My first home and bringing such an amazing being into my life. Is it bad that I'm more excited about Kalani than I am the house? lol

Very good point guys. I'm happy that it will be a great space for Kalani.

Shout out to Blancaej (Blanca) for my new signature. Love it!

Ordered Kalani 3 toys yesterday from mysafebirdstore: toy sneakers, a wood chew toy, and a large stainless steel bell. Also ordered another perch for his cage and a shower perch. Kalani will be 4 months old on Saturday!

Such a sweet heart! Glad you love your siggy! Kalani made it easy! ;)

How exciting on all the new goodies!! :)

Look at all his beautiful colours!! He is absolutely stunning:)

How much longer now?

So gorgeous, and so exciting! Yes, I also echo Terry57's question, any ETA on homecoming?

Should be about 6-7 weeks. Everything is on pace for that anyway. He is down to one hand-feeding a day, and is eating shelled nuts, fruit, bean mix, ect on his own throughout the day.
Still feels a little far away, but I remember saying "I still have 5 months to wait." We're getting there!
