Watch Me Grow

Unless you're me, and chocolate is out to kill you (allergy with anaphylaxis reaction, though not as bad or as fast as my reaction to tomatoes, which means no pizza).

I'm so excited I can hardly wait to hear you have him home with you! I can only imagine how excited you are.

I just shed a tear for you... the only thing better than chocolate is tomatoes .. only thing better than tomatoes is pizza oh and peanut butter. Although not together, well chocolate & PB is good together just not pizza and PB or tomatoes & PB.. yucky.

I had no idea that chocolate or pizza could be so cruel to someone :( I need to give you a hug :)

I love peanut butter ... when I was 37 out of nowhere I would have this itchy throat & coughing reaction that would lead be the start of an asthma attack I eventually made the peanut butter connection and went to the doc only to be told I had "developed" a peanut allergy. That I was lucky my asthma medicine had controlled my reaction but I shouldn't consume anything with nuts.
I can be somewhat stubborn I guess because I simply would not stop eating peanut butter toast when I wanted it lol then I'd need my inhaler .. was a vicious circle that my allergist was NOT amused by.
Last year I became "un" allergic for some reason they don't bother me anymore.
I do NOT suggest anyone be as dumb as I was... my reactions were mild compared to what most folks have to deal with :(

That is so exciting! I'm jealous. He looks great in your signature. Keep us updated!

Thank you! I am SO excited to finally meet him. I'm also a little anxious. Still waiting on his aviary, which should be here any day. Still need to address a play-stand, some foods, and some sound dampening curtains!

My cousin was a HUGE help today.

I'll be getting some type of flooring (likely linoleum) for under the cage early next week.

Kalani just gets more beautiful with every picture! How many more days now?
That aviary is amazing!! Looks like you forgot to put food and water in there for your cousin, though:)

I have serious cage envy.

SERIOUS cage envy!!! Great job on the cage...your baby is going to love it!

Thanks everybody!
This is my first house, and the stars all aligned so I had an empty room with a blank slate, so the cage can work! I'm very pleased with it. The only this is the lock is broken. Not sure if broke during shipping, or if we accidentally broke it when we had the cage on the side and were kneeling on the support beams. Should be an easy replacement.
Terry: Kalani comes home next Friday. 9 days!!

100% linoleum floor, or you will live to regret each and every crack, tile joint or wood pore. If you can, extend the linoleum sheet by 2 feet on all sides of the aviary too. Great cage, and just think... you can share it with Kalani if the missus gets out of hand . In fact that what a great idea, you can have a sleep over with Kalani, just set up a cot in there.
Now I'm really jealous!

That is my EXACT plan with the linoleum, an extra two feet all the way around.

No "missus" here. I just moved out on my own. If there was a missus in the picture, my chances of getting a cage this size would have greatly diminished.

Looks great Don :)! That was an awful lot of pieces there to not have instructions :D!

Thanks, it was an adventure!
The worst part is we built the first half on its side, and went to tilt it up, and couldn't because of the fan. Had to disassemble it and reassemble.

8 more days now! Whoo hoo!!!!!
