I can't wait!! It's going to be a long work week. I'm off Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday though! Took a vacation as Kalani gets settled.

Thanks for following along.

Thanks so much!
It is a lot to follow. I'm going to put a composite post up with week by week pictures together, for those who don't weed through the thread. When I first decided to get Kalani, I was searching for baby macaw growth timelines.

I am just so excited for you! I so love this thread, and can't wait to see pics of you with Kalani finally home:)

Thanks Terry!!
Kalani's flight arrives at 6:25 am on Friday, so I will probably get there around 5:30 am. We set the time early to avoid any potential heat concerns.

Kalani's older sibling Gaby went home last weekend. His younger sibling Bogart made it home yesterday. Less than 24 hours for Kalani!!

Some last minute photos of the wet chicken.
Paul at eggs-otic parroting has been so great to deal with!

I think Kalani may be contemplating world domination in the last photo.

Sorry for the lack of pictures. It's been a busy day. They had me going every which way at the airport.
Kalani is getting settled; very sleepy. He is nervous, but taking fruit/nuts by hand without hesitation.

LOVE that frontal head-on shot!
I try to get one of the Rbird but he always has an eyeball pointed at me!
Beautiful bird there!

Finally home! I especially love the first pic how Kalani's head is turned all the way around. Very cute. I know you're over the moon to have him home. I wish you all the best :)!

Thanks! We are hitting it off. He is stepping up for me now, so I've been able to have him out in the living room next to me. Temporarily using a chair as a stand right now. My parents stopped by and he took some nuts from them as well. Great progress in just a day!

Sounds like he is doing awesome! Congratulations! I am so glad his journey went well and he is now home with you. You've waited and prepared for so long for him. You must be over the moon! :D

Wow. I literally just read through this entire thread! What a journey for you and Kalani! Congratulations on the addition of such a beautiful bird to your very new household! And congrats as well on your beautiful new home! And that aviary/cage is nothing short of amazing!

I look forward to following your progress as the bond with Kalani grows stronger and deeper. Keep the pics coming!
