LOL, well we all did things that we look back on and say "Whaaaaa??? What was I thinking??" You are a lucky lady, my very first parrot, Skylar, went every where with me, until one day, he got spooked by a truck hitting its air brakes. I never found him. Thats is why I am so paranoid about Salty. He is cliped, but after that experience with Skylar, and reading about other birds flying away, Salty will always be on a harness outside.

Timneh loves the inside bean of green beans, maybe raspberries or watermelon. I can't wait to try and take Timneh outside in her harness. She would really like to go outside we sit in the screened in window and listen to the birds and watch the dogs roam the backyard. She tells them to come here now, LOL.

I do think about trying a harness...

Oh please, please try putting a harness on RB. I can't wait to see the stories of you trying to get it on him! Hahahahaha!

No I haven't Jim, I would like to see that. Seems pretty simple trick to teach, and Salty WOULD like it. Got the link?

Saltybucks! Love it.

Inger... what was I THINKING?!

Awwww pleeeeeeeeeze? It would be so funnnnnnnnn.

I can't get Bumble's flight suit on her, if that makes it any better. She just tries to eat it. In the VERY helpful video from the manufacturer, they suggest you set your bird down with feet in holes and pull it right up over their winds slick as a whistle. They don't suggest ways to get your bird to stand still while you do that. [emoji23][emoji23]

Hardest part is getting the birds head into that loop. Salty does that most of the time, but not everytime. Last nigh, for example, he refused to do it, and thats cool, cuz we just moved on to other tricks. We will try again tonight. Inger, bear in mind Salty has been doing this activity for almost if not more then a year. I've gotten the whole harness on him exactly 3 times.

If you haven't seen that video yet its in the life and times of Nigel should be close to the last page.

Salty is so smart! I love it!

I want one! Wonder how much he wants to build one for me and Salty, less the machine vision stuff. I bought a cheap RC truck today to perhaps jury rig something like this for Salty.

This kind doesn't go over the head. It's the "bird diaper" that goes over the wings and velcros on the back. I feel like over the head would have been easier - I can lure her head anywhere with a piece of oatmeal! But thanks for the reminder that sometimes it takes time.

Amazing! About time somebody modified some RC equipment with a joystick for a parrot to manipulate!

Scott... you can see in the video the Grey stop, then he leans out from the buggy, looking which way he wants to go,then moves the joy stick to make the vehicle go in the direction he was looking!
Now, if that's not one SMART Grey!
