New Members

Hi All!
I am new here. I am not a big talker but I enjoying reading posts and learning more about the birds. I am a stay at home mom....I know a dinosaur in today's world. I am pretty shy...but working on it. I breed Hyacinth :blue:Macaws so I do get to meet new people. Anyway I will try to be a contributing member once I get used to it here and get to know some of you. Thanks for having me!

Welcome to our flock! No need to be shy, we are a friendly bunch. As you know it takes a special sort of person to love and do well with birds, so that kind of tells you what we are like right there:) I'd love to see pics of your Hy's.

Thank you. I posted some pics in my album. Not sure how to do it here. Some are pics of my birds and some are just pics I really like.

Hello my name is Eve and I'm new, been posting a bit lately and reading lots. I am a mom of two, a 6 year old and a 15 month old. My husband is gone a lot for his job so I have recently quit my job to be a stay at home mom, which is a big change for me.

I also have 3 small dogs, two cats and soon will have two baby lineolated parakeets. They are in the process of weening and I can't wait for House and Wilson to come home:) I also love goldfish and ponding and have a pondfull of wakin/watonia goldies. I spend lots of time working on my pond. I also love to garden, read, history, listening to NPR, and to chat about politics and life over wine;) Oh, I would also love to travel if I had money and a babysitter!! lol

Welcome to the forum, Eve! I can't wait to hear more about your Linnies. I have to admit I'm interested in them as well now that I have seen some on here, although I don't need any more birds:D I would also love to travel if I had the money and a good pet sitter.

You know I never even heard of linnies but after I did I wondered why these birds aren't better known in the states. I think someday they will be almost as easy to find as budgies, conures, and teils. And hopefully they will be cheaper in the future too!!! lol

Honestly, I didn't know what they were either until I kept hearing them mentioned here. I had to look them up. And that surprised me because years ago I was researching just about everything to decide what was right for me. Maybe they were rarer then. This would have been 12-15 years ago that I was reading everything I could get my hands on about different species.

hi every one, im green in using these forums, but it looks great goodevening here from malta

Hi Everyone: I'm a new member from East Coast Florida. A previous (sad) SI Ecclectus Owner, who is planning to get another one soon when we settle into our new home in September. I want to make sure we give our new family member the best start possible so I decided to catch up and hopefully make some good connections that will put me in the right direction for a "perfect Match" I'd like to start looking and planning. I really miss our last parrot which I had to adopt out due to hectic unplanned travel schedule. Now my husband and I are semi-retired and ready to adopt a new one. Thanks and I look forward to getting to know you.

I am 13 and live in walnutcreek ca, I have had budgies and have 2 lovebirds. I left the hobby for a while and are starting back up again. kinda a newby so might not always be right on everything.

Hi! I'm new here! I'm very excited and hopeful that in the future I will be a great parront. I have lots of questions though, so thank goodness I found this forum!

Welcome, Birdybird! I know you will find this place very informative! There is always something new to learn here and all types of owners from beginner finch owners to larger scale, longterm, multiple macaw owners!

Hi everyone,

I'm new to the forum and to birdkeeping! :) I just got a green-cheeked conure who's 11 weeks old today and is an absolute darling! His name is Zazu :)

Is this the proper place to ask a random question? Are white/black sesame seeds okay to feed to my GCC? I was wondering if he might choke on them.

Thanks and nice meeting you all!

Hello everyone. Im Lisa, Im from Pittsburgh Pa. I have an awesome G2 (Kia) thats almost 9months old. Love her to pieces. Im considering adding an Electus some day, just not sure when. Im still fairly new to the forum, and Im so happy I found it. There's so much information here. It's so nice to jump on here when I have a question, or to get the advice of others that have alot more experience than I do. I want to thank all of you for helping me, giving me advice, and being so welcoming :)

I have an Eclectus male who turned 1 in November. His name is Jack Sparrow (named by the grandchildren.) He is quite a talker and wants to be with me all the time. I recall the breeder saying he should not be allowed to walk in the grass. Can someone explain why this is harmful. I have been keeping him in his outside cage while I work in the yard. What would happen if he got in the grass?

im new to the forum, but not to my children, aka my parrots. we have a congo african grey-which loves to repeat anything you might say once on accident. we have a moluccan cockatoo which is a rescue bird, she was badly beaten by previous owners. her right wing stays out to her side a little more than it should but she has a heart of gold, loves to sing and dance and is very vocal. we are awaiting our newest edition to the fam. which is are blue and gold to be finished being hand fed by our breeder, she is very good w all our birds. have done bus w her for the last fifteen years. looking to build a outdoor macaw aviary say 10 ft w, 8 ft tall, and say 24 ft long. anyone have any good plans our blueprints maybe or just some comments on it would be appreciated thanks:blue1::white1:
