Oops, I didn't even see this thread. Should I already introduce myself here even though I made my own thread? Haha, oh well, I will anyways!

As I mentioned in my other thread, I'm from Melbourne, Australia! Well, initially Sydney, Australia, but moved here about 4 years ago. I still miss Sydney and hope to go back early next year. One of the things I miss most is the wildlife, we used to get so many wild galahs, corellas, cockatoos, rosellas, lorikeets, kings parrots and bush turkeys! Yep, turkeys! (they are pretty ugly little things, but they are still funny and cute to watch!) I miss feeding them, watching them and taking pictures. I think it's the one thing that really bothers me about where I live now, there's just such a lack of wildlife! Maybe because it's colder here.

I have a sun and nanday conure, Lola and Mimi. They are a crazy pair and I love them lots, they are always making me smile and cracking me up. My "dream flock" would be my current two, a galah and a blue and gold macaw. I don't think I could manage a macaw for a few more years, however! But, I have been looking at finding a galah breeder lately and hope to add a pink ball of fluff to my household soon. :09:

Outside of looking after my birdies, I'm currently studying IT and working part time. I love to game, bake, take (very amateur) photos and draw in my free time. Majority of my money goes on 3 things; games. birdies. and art supplies like graphic tablets, sketch books and camera lenses.

I don't have a LOT of people outside of facebook and forums that are into birds, so I really enjoying reading and sharing stories about mine and other birdies on here.

And... um... that's about it really! :09:

Hi
I am a new member. I do not live with a parrot yet. 32 years ago, we had an African Grey Congo. She was beautiful and smart and we adored her until my children started arriving (3). She began to get very jealous and would bite a lot no matter what we did. We had to re-home her and glad we were able to find a great home. Now my children are grown and I am yearning to work and live with another AGC. My problem is that I don't know any breeders in my area (Staten Island,NY). If I purchase a Grey, I would like it to be young so that I can handle it better and it will be comfortable with me. If I rescue, I would like to be able to visit a few times to make sure I am matching myself and the Grey correctly. Any suggestions or ideas would be so appreciated.

Hugs from sunny South Africa 'WELCOME"
As you know Greys are wonderful companion birds
I wish you luck, and pray you find a knowledgeable breeder nearby

Hi, we are new to this forum. Previously we had a sun conure, "Cheekie," and now we have a 5 week old B&G Macaw. Hand feeding is a new experience and we are dealing with it very cautiously! Setting up a vet appt tomorrow and studying as much as possible to rear a healthy and happy B&G.

Im Sarah and Im from PA, Im the proud mommy of Cooper! She is a Cinnamon Green Cheek Conure... I would be lost without her! She is my pretty girl!

Hi all,
I'm new here....also new to owning birds, even though I have three already, well technically five but two are going to my grandmother. I have 2 Cockatiels, 1 Canary and 2 Parakeets (they are the ones going to my grandmother).

I think I have a male and female cockatiel, a male and female parakeet, and a male canary, but I am not sure how to tell the genders and was wondering if anyone could help me out. Are there any easy ways to tell?

Hello everyone. I can't believe you guys have so many birds! I've wanted a parrot for many years and I am now the proud mom of a sun conure. He is so sweet! We can't remember life without him :) I'm already thinking of getting another parrot. Now I know why they say "parrots are like potato chips - you can't have just one!"

Hello! I'm Bev, I took on a 6 month old Eclectus Hen a year ago and She's great!! Hell of a scary responsibility since she may live for the next 50 years... I'm 25 lol. She lives in my bedroom in a big cage, right now shes on top of it watching me and listening to Beyonce haha. i work full time in a pet shop and thats where i bought her from, paid £ 700 for her and £144 for the cage. just had a few questions and wanted to see what other eclectus owners had to say!! I dont know anyone else who has an eclectus. :)

I just inherited my daughters 2 YO IRN...Ziva aka Miss Birdie. My first bird and I love her. I am finding it a bit difficult to get her adjusted to her new home and me. Shes not mean, just quiet now. She used to snore, bawk like a chicken, and laugh. Hopefully she will get adjusted soon. Glad to join the group and get advice!

Welcome to the forum, I hope you stay because you will never find a more friendly group of parrot lovers willing to help, anywhere!

Hi Everyone,
I just took in my first bird pet last night he is a 5 year old yellow naped amazon. We are his third home, so I am worried that he may have trust issues. So, far he seems to be doing really well talking to us and taking treats from our hands. His previous owner really did not tell me much about him. I just hope he feels comfortable here soon.
