Help cleo dying. Blizzard = no vet

Unfortunately, their avian vets are not in, today, but their emergency veterinary docs are purportedly experienced in avian emergency procedures. Any port in a storm, right?

Their # is 212-838-8100 and they are located at 510 East 62nd Street.

Did you try this? What did they say?

It would take 2 hours to go to NYC by rail, it's still too far and all railways are closed and subways and I can't carry her around in such conditions :(

This is just unbelievable that there's absolutely no help available.... :(

Was she handfed? Do you have any handfeeding formula that you could give her so she gets some nutrients? Otherwise I would do what Julie (RavensGryf) suggested and crush some pellets into powder and mix it with water or electrolytes and try and feed her that way. She may like it better if it's nice and warm

GOOD!!! Oh I hope they can help her.

Good luck!!! Praying they can help her!!!

It took an hour to get here!!! The roads are HORRIBLE (and you would not believe the jerks on the road who tailgate and speed in this). But we are here now,

Thank you though yes Prayers please :'( I can't even go be with her because it's an emergency vet so there is no one allowed in the back bc of other sick pets :( I don't know what's going on they took her to examine her

I am so glad you went and made it there. I live south of Houston, TX, last week it was in the 30s going up to the 60s and rained every day, even washed out a bridge due to the volume of rain. I've worked in Canada, Buffalo and Iowa during the winter and I do not begrudge you all with all that snow and the storm. And I know there are yahoos out there that drive crazy. Prayers are coming your way! Keep us posted.

Thank goodness you made it there. We are still having the blizzard up here in the Boston area, and the travel ban won't be lifted until midnight. Let us know how it goes!

Healing thoughts sent your way. So glad she made it to the vet, no matter what happens. At least they will relieve her suffering. Please keep us posted!

Thinking of you and Cleo!

She is def egg bound they want to do x Rays. I'm waiting on estimate. they know what is the problem they just need to know the extent of it. She would go under anesthesia for the xray so I would say goodbye just in case, (they have to advise any chances of death). but she isn't a freaked out bird they Said, so she should bounce back after 10-15 mins according to them bc she isn't a highly stressed bird. She is easily handled but she is lethargic and weak. So I am worried but she has a chance. I hope....

Any chance is better than where we were a few hours ago! Yes make sure to say goodbye just in case. You never know. But HOPEFULLY she will get help and recover!!

So glad you got Cleo to a specialist vet! Assuming the imaging goes well, my heart is a flutter hoping the removal process can be safely accomplished.
