The Rickeybird Scrapbook, 1984 - Updates

-----------------------------------

Wait a sec......... this is fake news, right? Right? I can't tell anymore.

This is one of my "on this date in the Scrapbook X years ago" items. This one is from exactly three years ago.

APOLOGIES TO MADONNA

LaMartina, heed Wrench's timeless caution, and do not take anything in the Scrapbook too seriously. Except what I say, of course.

Of course competition is fierce in the new year. This the leggy sisters have reappeared circling above to catch a glimpse of RB.

It would take Amy all day to go thru one of those drumsticks.

Just when I was thinking that it was safe to allow Julio full access to the Forums again -- the leggy sisters return!!!

And, yet another reason this 2019 - 2020 Hormonal Season seems endless!!!

While enjoying sweet little Fang's thread (http://www.parrotforums.com/cockatiels/83897-faithful-fang-2.html), we had a good laugh about how people can be unnecessarily alarmed by his name when meeting him. A bit of repartee inspired LaMartina to suggest a nickname for the Rickeybird that provides equal irony for his nasty temper. This is now officially ratified in the Scrapbook! Presenting...

"Sugar Beak"

and souvenir of "Sugar Beak"

Oh, Rickeybird! I mean, Sugar Beak!

Sugar Beak!!!!!!!!! I’m dying!!!!! [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji23] gotta keep him from breathing in your ear Gail. That sugar is potent!

Well Aunty Gail there really is only enough room for One True Sugar Beak in this here neighbourhood and that is HRH the Crown Princess Lilly Pilly, undisputed Monarch of the Upside-Down Fuzzy-Butted Sugar Eaters...

(Besides everyone knows too much sugar is bad for you ... right? RIGHT???)

Good Lord! My dear wife's Polish Parents would have been heartbroken to find that "Beer Barrel Polka" did not have Polish roots as it is a standard at any US Polish gathering on this side of the pond...

There is currently a house full of laughter and smiles here as the news fills our home. Mrs. Boats states that its the 'Beer' that connects the Czech's and Polish people (and a fair amount of boarder jumping)!!! I'll have to get some clarity regarding that point! :D

So, your wife is Pole? I hear about Beer Barrel Polka for the first time so I can't really say about the roots. Czechs are definitly more well known from the beer than Poles. When I was in Czechia I often used to see beer cheaper than water:p I could say we aren't known from the beer but maybe I am wrong. This would explain a Polish song:
It's that Slavic brotherhood
Likes to drink and sleep a lot

Well, I just hope that the Sugar Beaks are safely distributed by neighborhood, beer hall, country, or whatever. The world can handle anything and everything else!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's National Bird-Feeding Month (February) again. Your humble Scrapbook Archivist dredged this up from 2017. The more things change..................

Good try, bird. It's still pellets and chop for you.
I don't need marinara-cheese footprints all over everything, and I'm pretty sure you'd be a mean drunk.

My work is done............................ for now. :)
Happy National Bird-Feeding Month, everybody!
Rival out.

Yes, my dear wife is a Pole as is both sides of her family. Their Grandparents came from Poland, but I do not know from what region. I'm certain that Mrs. Boats' knows and if you are interested, I will ask her...

I was in Poland several years ago as the organization I worked for had a new manufacturing facility in Southern Poland.
