The Rickeybird Scrapbook, 1984 - Updates

Feathers on ebay??? Amy could make a bundle:eek:

Jim

I'm getting ready for the New Year in a new way...!

Back in September, I was showing some 'feather art' that I made out of the Rickeybird's moulted 2019 feathers, collected throughout both his moults during the year.
I'm finished, having used up the entire 2019 batch. Maybe I'll do another set in 2020... not sure.

Anyway, here's the finished "gallery".
It was a lot of fun. As you can see, designs can be as intricate as a portrait or as simple as a little squiggle. All it takes --- some glue... maybe a paper or background design... even an existing ornament, or anything to which you could glue feathers... and of course... FEATHERS!!

Oh, Rickeybird!

WOW! These are gorgeous, Gail! What a great idea, you have given me my New Year's resolution to start saving all the feathers again!
And I spit coffee everywhere reading Rb's thoughts on this practice.

I just checked ebay for amazon feathers..holy cow  A bunch of listings. Bundles going for about ten bucks. Amy could earn his keep if I auctioned of the couple dozen I've saved. :green:

Have yer own tomorrow, I don't care."

Oh, Rickeybird!

I would think that the Rickeybird's beady little eyes would probably be rolling back in his demented little head in fatal ecstasy, the very idea............................... hens so full of pepper that they make red eggs. That's your Trivia Prize, you little reprobate. What a way to go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I thi the bonus of pictures of hens with peppers would make him happy! Plus who knew! You really are what you eat!

A hot hen that is so full of pepper that she flaps her wings and offers ya red-hot eggs and makes ya a big profit. I suppose that, to a low-life chile-obsessed lazy-butt bounder like the Rickeybird, that would be the ultimate fantasy... for a human equivalent it must be like a female with the body of J-Lo, the bank account of Queen Elizabeth, the comfort food of Martha Stewart, and the make-out skills of Stormy Daniels.

I'd say this was an exciting end to National Trivia Day.
Winner... THE RICKEYBIRD!

Say "Thank You", Rickeybird.

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, I wish I could find it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Aren't they a sight in their native glory?

Here's one of my favorite clips...
Makes me a little more charitable when I'm grumbling about what a rotten roommate he is. Imagine being hard-wired to be a wild-flying Patagonian rooster and winding up perching in an Ohio henhouse...

Thanks for a nice "grounding" moment, Mr. Boats.

I got scared of this vid....... because I had sound set almost on full:D (on laptop I have usually set 2-10, but now I had over 70:p)

I would like to see wild parrots in the future... this can be any species...

WOW, that video looks like the height of income and outbound air traffic at LAX airport.

Glad you liked the heads-up, sad that you didn't see it. And, very happy it was a good moment of positive thoughts. :D.

Think of a Fall field of golden wheat, floating in the hands of a Fall breeze with a flock of Rickybirds swooping just above the surface. You are close enough to see the detail of their eyes, yet just far enough way that your field of vision is filled with only the field, Patagonian and a light blue sky... May You Enjoy Your Coffee...

Sooo, you are warning the Wild Roosters of the World to be careful of what they wish for??? :D

Sounds dreamy, Mr. Boats... truly.

Just to make sure they don't leave TOO positive an impression...

In English, that's 'The largest colony of Burrowing Parrots [Patagonians] in the world, located in the Balneario region of Argentina.'

Listen to them in all their screaming squawking splendour, wonderful!

Well, speaking of singing... you have seen videos of the Rb reproducing my giggles, sneezes, chatting, and now...

Here is his rendition of my lullabye. When I first got him, he missed his old home, I guess, and would screech at night until I would sing. I still do lullabyes. Sometimes he "sings" with me. I swear to GAWD that I have a decent voice, but you'd never know that from the bird's version.
The room is dark, so there's nothing to see... the television is still on low in the next room... it must be time for...

A Rickeybird Lullaby.

The combination of TV, Banging and RB's version has one considering reaching for the phone and dialing 911. But, wait, that's RB and to make such a call would get one on that special list that 911 operator's have!!!

Try being a Baritone with an accompanying Amazon and its just not pretty, not at all!
