What hen can possibly resist the charms of Ol’ Sugar Beak?!

Ol' Sugar Beak is definitely warming up for the big day tomorrow.
He asked me to tell
"all you hott henz out there what nose how to party"

that he is getting plenty of sleep tonight and eating his oatmeal tomorrow morning and should be ready to keep you all happy, all day long...
"AS USUAL!"!

Oh, Rickeybird.

Happy Valentine's Day Eve, everybody!!!!!

Scott: Oh definitely! Animals have such a therapeutic effect on me. At least, usually. It's rare that they don't ease my emotional struggles at least a little.. just yesterday I avoided a mental breakdown with the help of mom's dogs. My mood was still pretty rough the rest of the night but I was spared the deeper upset that probably would have left me feeling physically ill after. [emoji33]

Galeria: Patagonian Conures really are such characters! I love their voices, too.. always so squeaky and cute. Even if Tialu is being a little crabby he sounds cute. [emoji38]

Squeek: I'm at about page 57 in the scrapbook so far but it sounds like my Tialu is a little more angelic, yes, lol! He can definitely be devious, too, though! He hasn't done so in a while but sometimes he would nibble my finger just a tiiiny bit too hard on purpose so I'd react, then he'd exclaim, "Ow!" and then laugh, lol.

Speaking of the Scrapbook, here's an official "heads up" and "hiya" to the newest Patagonian on the Forums... Tialu! Everybody, thanks for greeting and supporting one of the Rickeybird's cousins! Tialu, and Rain... welcome!!!!

As Official Scrapbook Archivist Dude I am going to observe Valentine Month by gathering a few previous posts illustrating that Patagonian roosters all think that they are the great lovers of the parrot world.

Hey Lady, looks like you changed color again!!!

Likely the Forum needs more Sunshine!!! :D

Congratulations Good Friend!!!

I did, and this change isn't due to L'Oreal, I promise.

And in related news...

Here is an unidentified, undocumented Rickeybird who has changed colors. Some kind of mutation, apparently... not Photo-shopped, I don't believe...

I just ran across the picture a while back in a lack-luster, detail-lacking blog, lacking updates for years...

What y'all think? What shall we call him/her????

A Tequila Sunrise Rickeybird?
Limon-headed?
Guacamole Patagonian?

After reading the limon-headed sugestion, I had an association with my passed budgie called Limonka... next I imaginated the Rickeybird with Limonka head:D

I’m seeing a Limonka-headed conure thru tequila-coloured glasses (have another drink Frida!)

Very interesting!
Anyone else note the lack of color in the nails and beak?
Yep, I had noted. all colors look like for lutino mutation (green ->yellow; black, grey ->white; red, yellow, orange ->still these colors etc) but eyes aren't red so can't be lutino but maybe dilute.

So far, this exquisite creature has inspired us to some nostalgia, brought us to some reflections on genetics, and driven us to drink!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Whatever we name it, it's clearly worthy of being a Patagonian!

Like we need another excuse to drink!:D

They say the best remedy for a hang-over is 'hair of the dog' ....
We don't necessarily agree with that.

Levi would advise RB, to get plenty of rest, a good probiotic to normalize his gut bacteria and coconut water to restore his electrolytes.... in his humble opinion of course :D

Feel better you naughty boy!! Over indulging is never a good idea!

Best of luck, your friend Levi ...

Well, thank you, Tami. This Friday, I am joining the winter remnants of my summer baseball team at a local tavern (the cool kids are in Florida) and I may well need your advice on Saturday morning. I believe in taking responsibility for myself. Certain roosters, on the other hand................................................................

Well, lookie here! Chile is celebrating their Rickeybirds again this year!

That $150 amount denotes Chilean Pesos... the stamp is worth about a quarter, US, if my conversion was correct.
The bird? Priceless!
Sure.

Gonna pass this info onto my father-in-law, he REALLY needs to unplug from the Book of Many Faces for a while!
