The Eclectus Diet: The Do's, the Don'ts, and Everything You Need to Know But Were Too Afraid to Ask

I was feeding pellets in addition to chop but i noticed my girl started wing flipping. I have cut out all pellets and now no more wing flipping. She gets chop twice a day and nuts and seed for training treats (or foraging treats if we are not training that day).

If it helps, I make chop. He gets a tablespoon of this with a teaspoon of millet mixed in in the morning. You could try this but with equal quantities of chop and golden feast and reduce the feast gradually over time. You need your chop ‘wet’ for the seed to stick to the pieces: Freezing makes it wet.
I found my boy still taps to even the Organic Tops.
He loves pomegranate and passion fruit as there are seeds inside, you can do the same mixing trick. It doesn’t have to be 50/50 any ratio to start with & alter it over a few months. Hope Chris can help you more.
I will try that hes been on goldenfeast and tops since I rescued him and is doing so much better when I switched him off the pretty bird from the previous owner. When I first got him his color was terrible and dull, finally its beginning to brighten and gain his color back. But I would like to give him more variety since all he will eat is the tops and goldenfeast Madagascar. Luckily, he does not tap or wing flip at all.
