Found an egg at bottom of cage. Help..?

I'd love to get one for my beaver budgie Rocky to chew on. She will destroy it very fast. Maybe I'll get one and take pictures of her progress.
Ah thats such a fun idea. I just liked it because its a lot of easy cardboard I know hasn't had tape, glue, or stickers in large amounts. And it's cat toys, so cheaper than bird. I actually got this one at walmart (incase youre interested) but most places have cardboard cat scratchers like it that are super fun lol, walmart has a few types -- pet stores too.

I love finding things meant for other pets for the birds. One of Benji's bowls is a hamster bowl, along with one of his toys. One of Baileys fav toys is a hamster toy, too. Stuff like that.

Judging from the color of her cere she doesn't look like she's very hormonal right now. It's usually browner and crusty when they're breeding. She looks very healthy.
I'm glad! Yeah, it's odd. Her cere has never turned that brown-crusty look, since I got her. It's always been the usual pale-white look. Despite that, I know she must be a bit just from how she's seeking out "nesting" spots, but.. It's interesting. Glad she looks healthy from the outside, obv not a full assessment but its a nice indicator.. her energy today was insane and I was really glad to see it actually.

Is she in a garage? Overhead looks like a garage door.
Under my bed! I've got a loft bed, so both of their cages live underneath. I thought the low-ceiling look might frighten them, but no. Hasn't discouraged anyone from having fun yet. I keep an air purifier for the dander though haha, since I spend a lot of time in the room around them.

That's a clever use of space.
It works for me! I actually thought of screening it in like an aviary sometime, but with Benj's special needs its not ideal right now. But yeah, my desk used to live there but now its my little bird corner. It's wonderful haha

Joey is incubating four plastic eggs on the floor of her cage in my bedroom to keep her away from the boys. I plan to remove the "eggs" in a few more days and hope that and the isolation breaks her crazy hormone cycle.
She's a very sweet little bird and is bonded to us. When I'm in the bedroom reading or just relaxing I leave her cage door open but sglhe rarely comes out. By the way, brooding females hold their poops for hours and leave their nestbox only to drop enormous poops and I mean wet poops 10x the normal size.

Here's where is gets really weird- if I'm in the room Joey leaves her cage and flies over and lands on me for about 10 seconds just to drop her huge potties on me and flies back right back to sit on her eggs! At first I thought she was coming over to visit me but nope! I'm just her toilet! Is she trying to tell me something?

I don't what I'd do if that happened more than once to me! That's kind of crazy to imagine. Birds can be so strange sometimes haha.

Wishing you and Joey the best :)

Some of my budgies are a hot mess! I'm having a problem with sexual aggression with a couple young male budgies. These two boys, Tiki and Baja, both less than a year old, are a couple of rapists! I call them that because with them there's none of the usual pair bonding and courtship going on- its just sex. They tried to mate with Joey and would have succeeded if I hadn't separated them, and her raging hormones put her into an egg laying cycle.
Another female, my beloved Rocky, has a male she's bonded to, Beau, but fortunately she's never gone so far as laying eggs. Tiki and Baja won't stop harassing Rocky now. They chase her around the room trying to jump on her back and Rocky says NO! I try to get them away from her and Beau tries to fight them off but I end up having to cage whoever I can catch to stop the "crime". Even though the boys are tame, they're fast flyers and don't want to be put in their cage

I don't know what to do with these boys. Aside from their sex obsession they're tame, friendly budgies. My set up is that they all get to be out flying in the room all day even when we're not home and I don't have enough rooms in my small house to let them out somewhere else. I wish I could find the two of them a new home with someone who has no female budgies who would take care of them properly but I don't know trust anyone. I just wish they would act more civilized like most male budgies!
