Teach Your Bird To Talk

Mishka is an exceptional bird in all ways. I talk to Rosie like that most of the time and she just looks at me. Some birds are better talkers than others. I am convinced of that.

Each of our birds is exceptional........

Just viewed the video of her saying COFFEE

From Woffee to Coffee THAT IS EXCEPTIONAL

Remember my friend's bird, Jessie (17 years old AG) he only began to talk a year ago...... you should hear him today wow

When the bird just stares at you, they are absorbing each word.
There are times when I have said something to Mishka weeks ago, and suddenly he pops up with the word.

When teaching Mishka new words, he sometimes does not say the word for ages.......

Some just take a while longer than other to talk

Rosie is one of those birds that takes a while to say a word or words she hears. Thanks so much for your support and encouragement.

Oh my goodness what a beak full of words. I wonder how Mishka would react to a lady grey. Wouldn't you want to find out mom??

[FONT=&quot]Thanks Di...... Mishka has a girlfriend "Jessie"
(we think she is a female LoL) perhaps Mishka know for sure.

When we visit, Mishka sits there quietly, not taking his eyes off her
THEN when arriving back home, Mishka talks about Jessie non stop for a few days ............ guess he is shy in front of her

My Blue Crown's first words to me were, "Hi, Oodie!" My name is Audrey, but it took her awhile to get it right. I was "Oodie" for a few months, then "Oodrie" and finally Audrey. She never could say the ss in Kiss. She always said Ki.

She also said some things that I think she learned when she was a little chick at the breeders. One of her favorites was, "Whatcha doin?" and it was the breeder who said that all the time, and whose other birds said it. So pretty sure she learned it there even though she didn't say it herself until she was here a few months.

And to this day my Nanday will surprise me with an entire sentence of words I didn't know she knew, and then never say it again. I really have no idea of how many words she actually knows, and can say if she has a reason to.

Pete and Merlin have already each said some new things so I'm certain they can learn more than they did in their previous homes. Merlin is so good already at imitating Pete, I often can't tell who just spoke to me. She also does a squeaky car brake imitation and yesterday my conure was doing it with her. And Pete has started doing one of Merlin's clucks.

I thought a few of you would be interested to see how I trained Mishka, to say something new.
A detailed viewing of exactly how I trained Mishka to say Jenny went to the hospital.

Hi Antoinette. I just wanted to let you know that Mickey has allready gone half way through the cd of words I created for him. He has also started making up his own words by using parts of two words to make a new one. It takes me some time to figure out what he is saying but eventually mommy learns HIS language too. He has really improved and most days I am in stitches with him. Oh before I forget, I had him listen to Mishkas "Oekie Kaloekie" video and believe it or not he has been saying the first part since yesturday non stop but unfortunately he heard my brother say a rude word and when he cant remember the rest of the sentence he ends it with a loud curse - then tries again when I tell him its not nice to swear. He is such a clown. Im going to post the clip where he is shouting at the dog then saying the OOKIE verse and will bleep out the curse.

That great to hear......... glad he is progressing. Lovely when they begin talking, and saying new words. When you can't figure out what they are saying........ that a good sign.... because soon it will fall into place. Even today when teaching Mishka something new, the first day or two, it's hilarious, can't make it out... then suddenly, that is all they say.
Keep up the great work...........
Looking forward to viewing the clip....................
:D

If he really knew what a hospital was he would never say it. His words are so clear, you can understand every word.

Thanks Di
LoL when returning home today, visited Jessie's guardians, Mishka asked me if I went to the hospital. I replied yes, and he asked why mommy why.

When training Mishka at night, he sits less than 20cm away from me, I am sure that is why he is able to pronounce words so clearly and correctly.
His beak is practically touching my mouth.
