Right now Salty is.....

Right now Salty is recuperatin from a day in the Sun and his first real pirate event. He went into his harness 3 times ( and only bit me lightly once). He had his picture taken I dont know how many times. Most asked question "Is he real?" Answer "Yes he is, and so are the poops on my back". I have some pics coming. ALl in all he was a very good boy, didnt bite any children and was pretty mellow.

OMG I just took Ollie Baby to DC (as you saw) and everyone asked me stuff like"is that real?" And it's like 1st of all he's not an "it" and 2nd of all, do you think I walk around with a stuffed parrot with a harness on my shoulder? Lol what is wrong with people!!! Haha.

Right now, Salty is pissed off at his daddy. I went to give him a little spritz, because it's hot and he had dried poops on his neck. I accindtally grabbed the wrong sprayer, and hit him a dozen or more spritzes of Poop OFF. YIKES. Ran to the shower and drenched him good. But it was not the calm and friendly kind of shower he is used to getting . Now he is rightly pissed off and not talking or playing with anyone or thing. I feel so bad.

Right now Salty is ....... singing his fool head off, full serenade mode.
Teaching him opera was a GOOD idea??

He is learning it from YouTube ... search on parrot opera, it's the first and second result. He's picking this up strictly by watching and listening to the videos. Salty has the first part but the arpeggio is a lot harder. He loves to listen and learn from ring necks and amazons.

I wish I knew the name of the operatic piece, I'd gladly buy a copy of it, to teach him proper. Unfortunately my depth in music appreciation for opera extends to "The Phantom of the", and singing "Old Man River" from the play Showboat. Anyone??

I don't want to see other parrots singing opera!

Salty's long tail reminds me of a blue front's. Are they fairly closely related?

Awesome! And he seems like he's using the bell as an impromptu mic!

They may be in the same branch, but I've been told they are closer related to double yellow heads - in that family. Salty is funny like that. He never spreads his tail feathers, when singing or talking are even when we play ' rough'.
ost Bluue fronts fan then really wide and so do DYH

Just a pic from last year, when Jim brought Amy down for a playdate.
This the first meeting of Amy and Salty.
