You have done a wonderful job training them and you are so right to be so very proud of them...Well Done Anansi I cant wait to see the newer videos of Jolly and Maya doing their thing. Keep those videos coming please they are Amazing :) Thanks for sharing the thread :)

I am sitting down and just listening to all the lovely sounds coming from Mr Biggles and in the middle of all the Zon there were for the very first time ever 3 very distinct attempts at saying; Hello....first time I heard it I thought I was imagining things but then he garbled another few words of zon and there it was again in a very soft sweet voice clear as a bell this time he said; "Hello" and again he repeated it after another outburst of Zon...I will now have to watch what I say in front of him hee hee...I must say, though it was lovely to hear the hello I think his Zon garble and sounds are Adorable too and I could sit and listen forever to all the different sounds he makes :)

Sweet! Does it sound like he's trying to imitate your voice specifically?

No its a much softer sweeter very precise little voice a bit like (QP) Peter Pans :)

Well I finally on the third attempt got Mr Biggles in focus for this video...third time lucky...I did it without treats and he wasnt impressed and decided to stage a "go slow" hee hee :)

Bravo, Mr. Biggles! Great performance! Such a handsome fellow and so clever!

I can't stop giggling at Mr. Biggles' reluctance to perform, he obviously knows the trick well but is concerned about the availability of the reward.

Hahahahahaha! Oh, I love it! Go Mr. Biggles!

What an amazing job you've done with his training, Mary! Mr. Biggles' flighted fetching skills are most impressive!

Hee hee yes he is LoL :) That was the first time he had to do a few balls in a row without getting a treat after doing each one...Mr Biggles doesnt believe in doing something for nothing :) Sometimes he gets nippy and threatens to bite me (gives me plenty of warning and time to escape his beak too so I dont actually get bitten) but show him a peanut and the bite mood is immediately put away and forgotten and he will shake hands instead (for the peanut of course ) :)

WOW! how cool is that anyway??! Great teaching job Mary, and an awesome performance from Mr. Biggles! :p

I agree,Mary. Even tho Amy is quite accomplished in talking, her 'zon lingo is quite sweet. I love her mumbles and such lol.

Thanks Anansi but I cant take the credit for that, he sort of surprised me and trained himself to do that...first time he did it I was just holding the ball in my hand and was too slow for his liking bringing it over to him to play our usual basket ball game so he flew to my hand and took the ball from me and flew back to the basket with it...I was flabberghasted so I tried it again and he repeated it after that I realised he had the idea ot maybe I should say had come up with the idea of showing me he could do this...prior to that I had been moving the basket farther and farther from him so he would have to make the effort to get to it (which was wrench13's idea afew pages and posts back here in this thread)...somewhere along the way of moving the basket farther from him he began to do a wingflap while holding the ball on his way to the out of reach basket to drop the ball into it. I have no idea how to actually train a bird to do this it just sort of happened :)

Thanks Jim ...yes I Love the Zon chatter I could listen to it all day...wish I could understand it and what the sounds mean :)

Mr Biggles started learning about the colour yellow this morning...he surprised me how quickly he picked up on the idea of choosing a specific colour...so far Im only asking him to pick the yellow ball and I will stay with yellow for a few days before moving on to red or green as I dont want him to start mixing them all up...I will have to look for other coloured balls I think as time goes on :)

Thanks Anansi I was pretty pleased with him today when he picked the yellow ball each time without making a mistake...he learns pretty fast especially when theres a peanut at the end of each trick LoL :)

Mr Biggles went for his first propper shower today in the bathroom needless to say he was not overly impressed by the experience but it was way better than his reaction the first time I misted him...he shook hands with me for a peanut afterwards so I think Im forgiven LoL :)
