Mishka's new friend !!!!

That last picture is just too cute!!!! Your braver then I am as I won't even introduce my kitties to the birds while out....they're too cute together! My kitties are terrified of the macaws though....lol

Michael at first I was petrified and introduced them slowly, when Mishka was sitting on my lap Ringo came and lay close by for a few days. I eventually held Ringo while Mishka was on my lap, talking and kissing them both.
Mishka is spending more time out his cage now than ever before especially on weekends, I guess he wants to play with Ringo now.


I too would never introduce a cat to a Macaw either

It can be nerve racking at times, not knowing will happen between the two of them. Having the camera ready is a bonus but not always able to get the shot.. but got a few lovely ones.

I was thinking, Ant, you're going to have to encourage Stevaliekie and Sean to dye their hair grey so they match their brothers.

What a pleasure it must be to come home to Mishka and Ringo at the end of the day and enjoy them playing like this! It's so special and heart-warming to see two creatures getting along so well, even though they're not 'supposed' to. See what love can do?

Let me tell you it took months and months deciding.... was I going to jeopardize my relationship with Mishka, I had many sleepless nights.
Knowing Mishka is a calm and placid bird helped me decide.

Hey don't let Steven hear you say Ringo is his brother Steven is Ringo's daddy. LoL Lovely to hear Steven say to Ringo come to daddy...

I reckon love is in the air for Ringo and Mishka

Yesterday afternoon Mishka and Ringo decided to have a get together

They got real close.....

Mishka was chatting away and Ringo wanted to hear what he had to say

Mishka then said "Do you think I am stupid"

We laughed so much eventually Mishka began laughing.

I can imagine Mischka is saying "Yes, the white bowl IS your water supply. When I've finished topping it up for you, head over and help yourself!"

Ringo thinks Mishka's bowl is his water bowl, what a mission trying to keep him away.

I wish I had the camera on video when Ringo stood up to Mishka. You have to be so quick.
Now when Ringo goes near Mishka Mishka says "Oh oh mommy"

Mishka and Ringo have formed such a close bond it is wonderful to see.

Ringo has began sleeping next to Mishka's night cage in my bedroom, reckons he is Mishka's bodyguard.

Ringo has now decided that Mishka's playpen is for both of them.

Mishka is at ease with Ringo sharing the playpen, he plays as he usually does, even eats his yoghurt when Ringo is sitting right next to him.

Mishka lets Ringo "smell" him and has never attempted to attack Ringo.

Last night Ringo was rubbing his claw on Mishka's foot, Mishka went and kissed Ringo's claw gently.

Ringo sleeping on the floor next to Mishka's cage, he was looking out for his brother.

When Mishka was on my lap tonight, all he could ask was "Mommy where is Ringo?"

When Ringo came back into the lounge he jumped on the couch, and lay next to Mishka and fell asleep.

Mishka and Ringo are getting along so well.
When Mishka is taken out his cage, Ringo sits on his playpen waiting for him, so they can play.

This morning they were standing face to face, Ringo was meowing, it was so cute to see.

I am curious how many of you members have cats and birds together?
Do they get along?
Do they spend time together when your bird is out of the cage?
