I agree!! I love my dogs to death but Ona is just... different. She feels more like a person to me than a pet. Like an equal.

Speaking of pedicures, I saw a u-tube video of a male eclectus holding his foot out as his owner clipped his toenails one by one!

Speaking of pedicures, I saw a u-tube video of a male eclectus holding his foot out as his owner clipped his toenails one by one!

@onamom, can you teach Ona to do that? Hold out her foot and let you clip her nails without touching her? I'll bet you can!

Haha idk… Maybe but it would take some major time and work to get her that cooperative. I can file the front two nails in little short bursts at a time. I can’t reach the back two though. I do have to hold her foot while doing it. She doesn’t love it but for a treat I can attempt it. I actually haven’t needed to file them since I got her a nail filing perch though!

Life continues to improve here, the staff clearly have been properly prepared and they are quickly refining their abilities under my guidance! I almost Love Them!

Decided to hang out with the commoners today on the verandah. Local doves act as carriers of messages in the community. Neighbouring parrots are staging a revolt against landlords because of the low level cuisine being offered.

Natural ambient light is so important for greys. Kokkie has responded beautifully to time on the verandah. Her little bow tie feather is opening.

Tonight, nearly a year since I’ve had Kokkie, she climbed in my lap and had me preen her head feathers. The molt has been heavy and she’s itchy. Sooooo sweet and I’m amazed at the progress. So grateful

Awwwwwwwwww, congrats, Lea and Kokkie! Few things more rewarding in my opinion than when that bond of love deepens and strengthens with so much trust. Happy days
