This morning’s groom entails the usual toenail check. Looking at her now, I can see feathers covering areas that were bare just a few months ago. She has such personality now. Loves to be cheeky and when i tell her “no” about something she looks at me and says, “pfffft.”

That's ok, and Kokkie is quite correct to be discerning. Princess Peach is happy to advise her that her Royal Toesies have never received greater care, and being a lorikeet he's pretty good at the sweet talk too!

Me too. Kokkie’s plucking is almost certainly stress-induced. At first, when I took her out and worked with her, she was plucking at her shoulder feathers. I began just taking her out and sitting with her, no other interaction. She started to settle. Now, she is fine, although I monitor the stress and make sure she has plenty of good food. Her neck is likely going to stay bare to remind us of her stripper past
Yes, she will always be cared for here. Yesterday, she was angry with me as she had to have a shower. She absolutely despises them but absolutely needs them. She went years without which might have also contributed to the plucking.Well, now you have done it, gone and placed an expectation in place. Plucking is such a hard to define behavior and standard response is to love when it looks like it is fading away. But, knowing you, what every happens tomorrow will be accepted with Love! Even if she elects to return to her prior profession!!
. Neck was totally bare but now slowly filling in. Maybe her stripping days are over! She’s turning into an honest chick!
