I think I’m going overboard sorry for picture overloads! I’m just so happy we are making real progress daily. Baby steps but we have the rest of our lives, he can take his time. It’s no quality of life for him to live in fear so helping him relax is huge. Now he’s starting to destroy things! There is a grey in there!

Another milestone today. Red Kevin came down to the tray around his cage again as we were eating lunch together. He obviously was asking for what we were having so my husband gave him a pea which he gobbled up, and another, and another, and another! Straight from my husband's hands and was so happy that afterwards a long beak-grinding session topped it off. Then, he found a bottle to destroy. The rains are now falling (down in Africa) and it's fluffy nap time.

Today RK is quite proud of himself as he summed up courage to explore bookshelves and the front verandah. When it was all done he retreated to the cage exhausted but fluffing and buttfeathering everyone around.

Another brave excursion for RK today. He wants to hang out with everyone and fluttered to a table we have on the veranda where my daughter was and sat with her and her friends. Later, when i put my hand out to him he approached and gave kisses to my hands but decided he would wait to step up and made his way back home. He was visibly pleased and so are we, soon RK, soon!

Speaking of parakeets, the new karaoke place in downtown Greytown opened and the first act went to the ‘keets.

Aww my heart went out to RK today. He has times when something scares him. Today, possibly hearing neighbor cats, he perched shaking in corner of his cage (door to cage almost always open and his room is safe). I eventually coaxed him out and he was sassy again. Poor RK, i wonder what happened in his past. It will eventually fade as even now it doesn’t happen too often as it did last year when he came home.
