Kevin in Greytown 2.0

[\
After breakfast, the ā€œI canā€™t stay awake any longerā€ nap.

Once napping is complete Keven returns to seek and destroy. #kevinsworld

I know the feeling;)

Thank you we will come up to a year shortly, can you believe itā€™s been this long?

Thereā€™s a grey, neglected and older, at a local hotel. I am considering offering to purchase him (easily identified as male older bird). Cage with no toys, dirty, outside and itā€™s so sad. He sits quietly in the corner and doesnā€™t respond to much. Heartbreaking. He doesnā€™t pluck however.

Will post news if any comes about. People may get angry with me for offering as it is a well-known establishment.

I'm hoping this happens. Kevin needs a minion, and that bird needs rescuing.
I'm excited!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He really does. Heā€™s an older soul my heart hurts for him and it may be just knowing another bird is around would be good for Red Kevin.

I'm with Ms Gail on this one! And it's almost a year already? Time flies :52:
I'm pretty sure that Red Kevin knows he's not going anyplace anytime soon!
Its quite clear ( at least to me!) He has bonded with his servant/caregiver/Chief cook and bottle washer/private nurse/best friend!

Has RK been around other birdies? If so,what was his reaction to them?

I know with my personal experience, after having Smokey for a little over a year,in comes the green dinosaur. Even though Smokey was a "hands off" sort of birdy, she hated Amy with a passion. Anytime she could, she'd terrorize that poor girl. I have posted a couple times about it. Pulling Amys tail and make her scream then run back to her house laughing..and biting her tongue requiring five stitches. And for those twenty-eight years it didn't change. It was pure jealousy. The one good thing that came about however, was Amy taught Smokey to eat! Smokey was fed seed when I got her and would only eat a piece of banana or grape. After seeing Amy eat everything under the sun,Smokey started trying different things. In six months it was like Smokes would try ANYTHING..but I'm hijackin' your thread sorry!!

I'm very interested how this will unfold! If you DO rescue this new fella I'm sure he'll show his thanks to you just like RK is!

Thank you so much. I had a little gcc that was full of herself and would really push the envelope with a grey i was rehabbing. One day she got her tail feathers pulled out! That was the end of antagonizing!

Greys, Iā€™ve been told, are easier to accept other greys. We may find out! I hope so. Iā€™d love to have a close friend like Nigel but that is rare in this part of the world where most greys are the ones needing rescue. However RK has been making shifts in that direction of friendship. Iā€™m here for the long haul so he has time and so does any other that we might be able to help.

I like the scorn somehow. [emoji23]

PS Iā€™m unsure if RK has been with other birds but he loves the bunnies when they come out. Weā€™ll find out someday!

Typical poor human behavior photographing socially superior parrots while dining.

Tonight there are some cats hanging around the front of our verandah where RKā€™s condo is. Donā€™t worry itā€™s well sealed. But RK can see them and whistled very loudly several times til I came to shoo them away. Had to do this several times.

Iā€™m back in good graces.

Brilliant! Such lively use of form, yet such restraint in perspective... technique in service of inspiration.
Bravo!

Especially lacking is the human malappreciation (Kevin here) of the betterment of living room shelving. The added etching provides depth of character. I call it ā€œThe price of Grey.ā€

Update on the grey at the hotel:

We went by and saw him today, he was sitting in a corner at the top corner of his enclosure. I donā€™t know when itā€™s been cleaned, bless him. I offered again to buy. Left my name and number. Poor baby.

In the morning Kevin has a routine: breakfast, groom, nap and repeat. Do not disturb the routine.

The humans think I want their food. I wouldnā€™t stoop to that, Iā€™m waiting for my chop to come from the kitchen.
