Did someone ask for more Kyleigh?

...

From everything I've read, macaws are normally fully weaned at 14-16 weeks. But....it can always be more. She will be 8 weeks on Wednesday of this coming week.

....

I don't want to disappoint you, Stephen, but I've never heard of nor seen a BIG mac being weaned at 14 weeks. Mini mac? Yes, possibly, but not the big ones, not unless they were force weaned. Niko's breeder told me her B&Gs 'usually' wean around 4 months, which held true for my boy. But she's also had clutches that hung onto their formula until they were 5+ months old.

Saw her again today...I hope the breeder isn't getting tired of me lol..We've still got a long way to go.

She is 6 weeks today.

Kyleigh is stunningly beautiful, and you can see the personality develop with her expressions!

On the contrary, I'd hope the breeder appreciates your efforts to partake of Kyleigh's development and establish a close bond before she comes home. It's well worth the wait for her to be comfortably weaned!

Not a disappoint at all! The Internet and people have so much different information. I've seen all sorts of information. I'm just going to wait until Kyleigh tells me she is ready ahah. Carolyn has prepared me for something like 16-20 weeks. I'm just hoping she's wrong hahah

Thanks Scott! I've definitely got a beautiful diva on my hands haha.
The lady hand raising Kyleigh is exceptionally patient with me and my many visits. I couldn't ask for a better situation!

She is a B&G beauty! And, rightfully so, we feel your pride! We’re all looking forward to follow her story as she grows.

Finally got a picture of Kyleigh playing with toys!

IMG_8439_zpshtlhvsdg.jpg

I had to take the picture through her container.Every time I came close she would stand up and start flapping her wings lol.

She already knows how to play with her toys! Excellent! That is very important for her independent play! Sadly enough, it is a "skill" many birds never learn.

Stephen, I'm melting over here!!!! What utterly adorable and lovable photos! :smile015: Love seeing how much Kyleigh is getting exposed to, and it's so obvious how much you (and your wife, too) love your little girl. But wait...I won't be calling her 'little' for much longer. :D She looks GREAT, and content, and HAPPY!!

Great pics, Stephen! Loving the updates! Looks like the forum has another mush mac!

Thanks folks! She was a blast and extremely mushy today! Tons of kids and people wanted to come to her and pet her and everything. Too much fun! Gah. I love her!

She is so precious! I'm so happy that you are able to have this bonding time with her when she is so young. A mush mac for SURE!

My goodness she is SO precious! You and your wife look so ecstatic to have her. And gosh, that one picture with her eyes closed cuddling into you... I melted! I'm so jealous of you. I'm hoping I get to experience something so lovely eventually. Until then, I'm living vicariously through you and your photos, so continue taking lots [emoji16]

Like I say, handle them and socialize them, and get them out like this, and they pretty much stay like that... And once they're super bonded like that? That's it. It becomes a life long thing...
