Did someone ask for more Kyleigh?

A friend of mine has a hyacinth who is fully flighted and well trained. He likes to get swung by his feet until his head is completely upside down, and then all the way up over your head... (Human swing.)

The BIRD will count to three. At the count of three, on the upswing, you simply let go of the feet. (This actually is a macaw toss game.) The bird then lands on your forearm. (You're supposed to hold up your forearm.) And runs back down to your hand....

That's "do it some more."

When he doesn't run down to your hand, that's the signal for I've had enough of this...

Haha do that enough repetitions and switch arms, there's a little exercise for ya!

Proud daddy moment! Kyleigh perched on something I made and is still alive to flap about it.

I think I was more nervous than she was!

First pic: I dunno who has a bigger smile on Stephen, you or Kyleigh ;)

Second pic: WOW she has gotten SOOOO big! And so pretty :D
How old is she now?

Jim

She is gorgeous! I shared your pics with my nieces and nephews, they were mesmerized. The most asked about question was where were her feathers on her crop so I explained about her being a new baby. Kyleigh is getting so big! Early this year I interacted with a red wing macaw and he was a big boy. It looks like she is loving you and when it's time to go home she is going to be so ready, that is awesome. Keep the updates coming, the kids are looking forward to them this weekend!

Awwwww - she's doing so well! Very exciting to see her perching now!

Loving these updates, Stephen! Kyleigh is doing so well! And nice job on the stand! Looks like Kyleigh appreciates your efforts.

You look totally, utterly in love with your little girl in those pics:D She is so beautiful and you are really going to have a wonderful bond with her!

That is wonderful! Thanks for sharing. I will have a load of pictures this weekend. Kyleigh will be with my wife and I for a couple of hours at our home in between her feedings. I'm SOO ready and nervous at the same time!

Wow. Your current situation with Kyleigh's feeder is like a clinic on how the process should go when one is bringing a new baby bird into their family. Such a nurturing and loving environment with such frequent and productive visitation and interaction can only result in a supremely well-socialized and loving mac.

Well done, Stephen. And Kyleigh's hand feeder seems to be a rare find as well.

Oh no! That bird took both arms to swing, believe me! One foot grabbed each hand...

He was a trip! First Hyacinth I ever played with... Quite the intorduction to big blues.

This bird introduced himeslf, by the way. He was hanging by his beak, and swingning, and at that time I didn't realize this was macaw for "put your arm under my feet and pick me up..."

So he swung a little higher, grabbed my shirt at about the chest, and the next thing I knew I had a Hyacinth macaw standing on my chest, looking down on me. (GULP!)

Thanks Stephen (lol). She has definitely been a rare diamond for me. I'm going to get her to sign up on here soon.

Precious! Look how happy she (and you) looks in the first pic! Then the last one where she's flat out... so funny and adorable :)!

She's beautiful, what is her weight now and how much is she eating? My Catalina is 75 days old now and giving me a time with refusing food due to about to fledge...
