Hi all~

I have a friend that lent me a larger cage for Purl. My friend has an African grey. In looking at the cage the bars are wider apart then Purls current cage. I'm thinking the new one is about 1 1/2 inches..maybe a little bit bigger. Does that sound ok? Her current cage is probably 3/4" spacing.

It looks like such a huge difference to me so I'm concerned.

Thanks!:white1:

Can you convert inches to centimeters for me? xD

I'm terrible with maths. But 2 1/2 cm I believe is the biggest 'standard' spacing, and that would be fine for a ducorps. :)

As long as Purl can't fit her head through then it'll be fine, they have big feet so they can grab that width :)

Eek!

1.5" sounds ok ! I think this would be about the maximum bar spacing for a Ducorps

Ok great...I'll definitely do a actual measurement when I get home. My friend like I said has an African Grey and Lizzie is probably close to the same size as Purl.

Is there a place you can see bar spacing by breed?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Ok..looks like I'm good to go...the cage I was lent has 1 1/2" spacing which is mid bar to mid bar so the space in between is smaller. It's been in the house for 3 days now. I'll start assembling it and see if I can get her to switch over.
I hate the cage she's in..
