Bumble-ing Along

I would have to frame that in one of those tiny 2 x 3 inch frames that you can buy at Michael's, Hobby Lobby, etc.

I went to Michael's and bought tiny vials and put it in one of those, with the idea of possibly making a necklace out of it. But a tiny frame might be better, since it's so small I can't really see it in the tiny vial.

Hey Inger - how about a Bumble update ?

As you wish!

Bumble is getting much more independent. Rather than having to be on me every moment she’s out, she will often fly over to her boing and play with the toys hanging from it for quite a while. If I leave the area, though, she’s flies right to my head. Since I always remove her immediately, and she never stops me, I don’t think my head is her actual objective. A few times I’ve left her up there slightly longer than usual (if my hand were busy) and she pretty quickly starts to climb down my face.

I’ve been lax about our training sessions and it’s beginning to show. She had gotten quite good at fetching, her newest trick, and now she’s about 50/50 with it. My daughter has been staying with me in my tiny apartment for about 6 months (was supposed to be 8 weeks but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I love my kid) so it’s very crowded and gets messy very quickly, so the coffee table isn’t always available. That’s on me though and my little sweetie deserves better.

Since it gets dark so early up here (Seattle area - 8 hours of daylight this time of year), sometimes our evening time together includes her falling asleep on my finger. Oh my stars I love it! Every time I think she really trusts me, she does something new that shows even more trust. My heart melts and explodes.

She is saying peekaboo and tickle publicly now, and more and more kissy noises. She says tickle when she’s preening herself or me. Peekaboo is funny; when we play I put my hand between us and she says peek. But most of the time when she says peekaboo she headbutts my hand, so she knows there’s a connection. Sometimes peekaboo is still a little peek-quack-y. Here’s a super short video of it and a kind of lame tickle. [emoji2][emoji2]

As soon as she gets a permanent job! She’s been temping and there is every indication they’re going to hire her permanently. It’s just a waiting game. And she does help with groceries and cooking [emoji2]. I’m sure she will be out ASAP. My Ikea pullout sofa isn’t terribly comfy!

Oh but hey, do you have a spare room? Maybe you want her? [emoji23][emoji23] She sings like an angel.

Sometimes the cute is too much. And then she bites me. [emoji23][emoji23] And I envy you getting an entire lifetime with RB. Little Bum might live to be 15-and that’s not long as quickly as the years pass now.

Oh dear. Bumble just regurgitated on me. I immediately set her on her play stand and have been “ignoring” her out of the corner of my eye. She kept at it for a while. Now she’s just sitting there, not trying to come back over to me which is unusual. Being a parront is so nerve wracking. I hope this is normal inappropriate behavior.

Bumble pulled out a new word this weekend. When I put the dogs on their leashes, I count “one-two” as they put their legs in the harness. Yesterday, Bumble started saying THREEEEEE when I counted. I only recognized it because she does it exactly like Koolaid the Parrotlet in this video, which she loves to watch.

The larger Amazons 'can' live very long lives, some up to 70+ years! Our Amazons come with life limiting illness /injuries! We never know just how long they will be with us. Over the years, we have come to accept what time we are allowed with them. Each have created a larger than life place in our hearts! Each have taught us great life lessens and shown us love beyond belief! Time does not matters, only the moment matters! Make the most out of every moment!!! You are being blessed with a moment of treasures, each and every moment!

Thank you for the reminder to live in the moment. You are so right - and mostly I do just enjoy (almost) every second with my sweet girl. And also thanks for the compliment on my/her thread. I’m glad to hear folks are enjoying it [emoji3]. What you do for your guys is AMAZING. I don’t have the strength or experience to care for special needs birds and I’m so thankful for them that they have people like you.
