Bumble-ing Along

Good girl Bumble! You can use the fetch trick to teach more advanced tricks, such as basketball.

Bumble is a sweet thing so young and active and so blessed to have you!

I'm the one who's blessed. She was exactly what I needed. I'd lived with my boyfriend and our two dogs (and sometimes my kid) for 16 years. We decided to stay together but live apart - we split the dog time (I get weekends). I had never lived alone before (kid is grown), and I haven't been without a pet since . . . well I think never. Maybe like 1-2 years in high school. Turns out I adore living alone, but no pet most of the week was too much. I was also sinking into a bit of a depression with so many life changes. After a lot of thought, I decided a bird was the answer and next thing I know, I have my little Bumble who really has brightened my world and requires me to at least get out of bed on weekends!

:blue2: <--- it's a parrotlet. Don't talk to be about budgies. :03:

Thank you for sharing that, Inger. I love it! Itty-bitty Bumble to the big-time rescue. Beautiful.

Bumble was playing around in her cage, making kissy noises and actually saying peekaboo in front of me. I tried to get a video, and she immediately moved into this pose. I’ve been buttfeathered.

Hahaha I think it’s from her face but I haven’t looked that closely at Bumble’s Bum [emoji23][emoji23]

Inger, if you have access to a strong magnifying glass or better yet a kids microscope ( which are surprisingly good) the structure of feathers is amazing to study.

you may have to take bumble out to dinner first if you want the "underfluffies"

Wrench you're not wrong about those. Looking at a bird feather I find fascinating and I always remember kids microscopes being surprisingly good!

I would have to frame that in one of those tiny 2 x 3 inch frames that you can buy at Michael's, Hobby Lobby, etc.

Oooh what a fun idea! I think my BFF's kid has a microscope and I bet I could borrow it. Or maybe I'll just get one for myself. There are so many things I could look at.

:blue2: <---Parrotlet. Not budgie. :03:

You don't think hand feeding favorite goodies on the daily counts?

I went to Michael's and bought tiny vials and put it in one of those, with the idea of possibly making a necklace out of it. But a tiny frame might be better, since it's so small I can't really see it in the tiny vial.
