He now weight a whopping 320g at 4 weeks and 3 days! BIG boy.

He also did the CUTEST thing today, a number of times... when I talk to him he walked up to ym hands, grabbed my fingers with his beak, picked his favourite (my index finger) and licked it. Then he did a loud excited squeak and bobbed his head a little (whilst staring into my eyes) and flapped his wings! *dies from cuteness overload* he then proceeded to climb into my hand and fall asleep while I cuddled him... I cannot NOT keep him now! D:

320 grams?!? Seriously?!?!? Wow. Big boy, indeed. My 2 year old SI female, Maya, only weighs 375 at present. Bixby, my 1 year old red - sided male, weighs in at an average of 425. That really is shaping up to be a BIG BOY! Hahaha!

Yep! I KNOW! He's HUGE! A great big fat blob! In those newer photos I posted tonight he is almost as big as BOTH of my hands put together. HE. IS. BIG. And apparently they don't reach full adult weight until 7 weeks... so 80 grams per week on average he's gained... He'll weigh roughly 560g by the end of 7 weeks. That's one BIG red-sided boy..

Thank you! I'm glad! Yes. Week 4 (plus 3 days today).

EDIT: Which is the weight of a Vosmaeri, but Tai and Sen are MOST DEFINITELY pure red-sided's. So I'm not sure why he's so big... Maybe I might do a bit of research into why he's so huge.

SO CUTE! Yep. Cyan on the 'shoulders' of his wings, and bright red down his sides underneath his wings. Also pale yellow on the very tips of his tail feathers. But predominantly green, and blue flight feathers.

GOOD NEWS! Sen is on eggs! I got to see 1 egg, but she was in the nestbox so there was half of the nestbox i couldn't see.. Hoping theres 2 eggs!

My husband said with a positive look and tone of voice, "You might actually be able to keep this one."

He is exactly 5 weeks old today!
Weighing 350g before a feed, and 400g after a feed.

He is so sensitive. My daughter threw a mini crying fit in the bird room when I went to put him back in the brooder, and the poor boy huddled into me and got all upset...nawwww...the poor boy!

And look at all his pretty colours!!!
