:D naww this is too much fun!

Hehehe. Ok, it's a HE! Male! :) And to be completely honest, I've been fighting back tears all morning. I had originally planned to keep this baby if it were male (and now that we're bonded he'd be absolutely PERFECT, cos my husband wanted a male too), but then my husband and I promised his sister that she could have him if it were a he, since she NEEDS companionship more than I do. And I know he'd be in a great place, but I'm going to be so sad every time she sends me an update or talks about him because I'll be thinking, "But, he should be here...". which is selfish thinking I know. *tells self off*

BUT the customer comes first! *forces a big smile*

EDIT: The perfect description of how I feel right now would be this: Heart is torn two ways.

Aw hun I'm so sorry! D: Is it not possible to give her a different baby from the next batch of eggs? M-maybe she can get a different bird or a puppy instead.

He has gotten really big, wow! That picture of him on your daughter is so adorable, too. <3

:( *hugs my Pinnypinpin* It is possible... but I'd just feel so selfish taking him for myself. Haha no, she's getting one from us because for one thing, he's FREE to her, and also she knows she's getting him from someone trustworthy.

I KNOW! ^^ The little fatty! <3

I don't think it would be terribly selfish. How often do you get the chance for a bond like this?

And she'd still be getting a free ekky, right? Just a little later is all.

I know... I just still feel so torn though.. she's been following updates of him every few days since he was taken out of the nest.

Yeah.

Well here's an update of the little guy with his green poking out. :) He kept nibbling on me and resting his head on my chin squeaking. This little look he's giving just made my heart melt!!

Ok. My husband has said if Sen is on eggs he will consider allowing me to keep this baby Eckie, but if Sen is not on eggs then no, he has to go. -_- I really don't like that word, 'consider'.

I don't blame you. I wouldn't, either.

I can't get over how swiftly he's growing! Wow.

...what what? Well, here you go Miss Pin! ;)
Haha aww it's ok.. ^^ The people here are absolutely lovely!

Aw, he's getting so big now!
Looking back at this I can see a spot of green...was that intentional ;)

Are you going to schedule play dates? That would be a really fun idea to get to have a bit of time together again.

But I'm hoping you guys get to keep him that bond is just too good to let someone else have hehe !

*eye twitches* No not at all Stephen! It reminds me of when I was little asking my Mum if I could go somewhere, do something, have something..and she would respond with, "I'll think about it." -_- Almost always meant "No." And I just want a clear cut answer from Loki.. Yes, or no. Because if I get told straight out no, I can start to get over this little guy, because then I wouldn't be sitting here hoping he can stay.

Yes! He's a big boy! weighing 280g at 4 weeks... if he gains weight til 8 weeks he'll be a BIG boy weighing in at about 560g... That's one big red-sided eckie! But then again his parents are a good big healthy size. ^^

Haha...EAI.... it could be... ? :p :D

Play dates..? With...whom? Don't mind me my mind is just blank at 12:30am :D After watching the new Terminator with Christian Bale. *is slightly disappointed and moody* It's decided.. Christian Bale is just FAR better as Batman and Howl. NOT ENOUGH ACTION!!! *is craving an action packed movie now* *cough* back to the birdie...

Haha, well if I think about it.. if Sen is on more eggs, they won't be weaned and ready to go until the end of Summer (start of February), and we wouldn't send this guy to her til the end of summer anyway..so this MAY just work! IF Sen is on eggs.

Awww, I so hope you can keep him...you have formed such a bond with him, and it just does not seem fair if you are made to give him up now:(
Fingers and toes crossed for you!!!!

Those would be fighting words in my house :)

Oh WWWOOOWWW!!! He's growing so fast! And the pic with the little one, he is so big, bigger than I had imagined. I love the pics and seeing him grow. I'll see the kids next week and they've been asking about your little ones progress so they expect pictures, lol.

Very adorable he's definitely a big boy. I really do hope you get to keep him.

Awww thank you Terry! I'm almost certain Sen is on eggs.. caught Tai mating with her today, and going into the nestbox to feed her as well. She is spending ALL of her time in there again.

Haha thekarens (i forgot your name D: ) it sort of is, but I go silent when I get angry. I be a silent arguer! Beware The Silent Treatment! ;)

I know Taw! SO BIG! :D Hahaha awwww don't worry, there'll be plenty of updates! :)

Thank you Ace. I know right? Big cute fat blob of a boy! Just like my son haha. I like little chubby babies! :p

WELL! Finally! Husband has promised that he will resize the video (or two) tonight. :p What site uses the least amount of internet? Photobucket..? Or something else?

I read over and my comment seemed quite unclear as well. Might be staying up late too!
Play dates with you, of course with being completely healthy! Though I see a flaw, it could be quite tempting to never let him go back, really hoping you get to keep him.

Wow! This thread is amazing! (And you're from *Australia* too?!)
I just sat and read through the whole thread in one sitting and I am amazed. (I have handraised, just only smaller birds thus far.)

I hope you can keep him, he definitely belongs with you!:)

Hahaha EAI!
Well I alreday have 'playdates' with him throughout the day for his comfort. He's a big baby and wants nothing more than cuddles!

Thank you Curious_Caique! Welcome to the Forum! :D (Yes I am. Haha, I take it you are too! )
Wow.. well done!!!

Awww thank you :)

Well he is responding to "Up you hop!" and waddling up onto my hands. He's also started stretching his head into the neck of my jacket and then pulling me closer to him with his beak. Then i move him closer and he snuggles into my chest and falls asleep. TOO CUTE!

Here's a video of him (FINALLY) and I chatting a few days ago :)

Oh my gosh that is just too cute. His little voice is just darling! I really hope his mamma is sitting on a new batch of eggs! The timing thing sounds like it will really be on your side if she is. ^^
