Iā€™m so glad heā€™s home and fine, but how frustrating! I hope it was a weird one time event and before you know it, itā€™s a fuzzy memory.

Do you know where youā€™re moving? Local, or is your husband getting new orders?

He will be getting orders, but we donā€™t know to where yet. Basically they just gave us a 6 month window of time.

Hi Dani, I'm so sorry that this happened to your precious boy. How low was his glucose, if you don't mind me asking?

I'm glad he is home & doing well. Thank God.

He was at 48, but spiked up to 449 with a dextrose drip in the ambulance. After multiple long fasts they were never able to get it to drop below 80 at the hospital.

Heā€™s army, right? Fort Lewis is nice....and only a couple of hours from me. Iā€™d love to meet you and yours. Not really ideal for your flock though.

Lewis would be ok for the birds, we would just need additional winterization for the aviary :) Its pretty high up on our list of the places we WANT to go :)

Then my fingers are crossed and if you make it up here, Iā€™ll look forward to welcoming you to the area! [emoji16]

That's wonderful news. I'm happy to hear this.
Praying it was just a fluke and you all will never have to experience this again.

That would be fun! I have yet to meet any forum members in person.

I recently weaned a clutch of 4 tiels abs kept 1 back for breeding. The clutch weaned almost 2 weeks ago! The other babies all went to their new homes this past week.

The as-of-yet-unnamed baby started quietly begging last night. I asked her why, and gave her some millet and she stopped. This morning she was at it again so I offered formula; she took a whole feeding! Then again this afternoon!

Now, I abundance wean. So when I say the babies weaned, I mean they refused formula completely 2 times a day for 5 days in a row, so really this girl hadnā€™t had a feeding in almost 3 weeks! So we are off to the vet tomorrow to check for infection :(

Iā€™m so spoiled; most of my flock sleeps (or at least is quiet) well past sunrise. I have ONE exception; Pikachu the cockatiel. Heā€™s outside and he flirts with my 92 year old neighbor when she goes out into her yard in the early morning. Itā€™s 6:45, sun will be rising any minute, his song is beautiful and no louder than the wild birds, and Iā€™m usually up by now anyway.

But today I havenā€™t been to sleep yet (darn pregnancy insomnia), and I was just thinking that his song is the sweetest yet most infuriating thing I have ever heard! My aviary is directly outside my bedroom window; I wanted the birds closer to my window than to the property line so I would be the one to hear them the loudest but today Iā€™m regretting it lol.

With the stress of the last week obviously the animals felt it, and so did my son Levi.

I just though you might enjoy knowing he spent a large portion of his time freaking out over others touching the birds. He would hover around their knees saying (in his toddler mumble) ā€œGentle, gentle. Be geeeeeentle. GENTLE!! No! Be gentle! Mommy! (Tattling to me if he thought someone was not gentle) Mommy! Gentle!ā€ Of course at this point ā€œgentleā€ sounds more like ā€œdedoā€ but still.

I tried to get a video but couldnā€™t. So hereā€™s a random picture from this week lol.

Most hysterical moment of the day:

My husband: I canā€™t find my phone.
Tsali: call it.

I thought so lol. Tsali loves to repeat conversations that he hears frequently but this was a first [emoji23]
