Second visit to the vet...
Bacterial infection has gone.
But not yeast infection in crop.
We have new antifungal meds. He hates it...
But he used to get a little bit of sourdough ... or mash potato.. Spinach.. carrots ... things I make for myself.
The vet said no toast no fruit etc..
He doesn't get much toast .. a tiny bit if I have it. Same for dinner. I cut down the fruit.
He does eat veg but he doesn't like many things I offer. He loves Broccolini and snow peas. But I'm thinking the peas might be full of sugar ..
How do you know ?
Is there a list or something?
He has a tropical mix he likes and has pellets and fruit and veg.
I don't have a clue whats safe to feed him.
He loves some raspberry and Kiwi fruit.
I'm going to have to hide and eat in another room.
I'm careful what I give him but obviously not enough 😐

What pellets does he eat? Some have sugar on like ZuPreem

ETA: Beetroot, carrot, corn, and peas are high in sugar. Same with most fruits.

He eats veta farm pellets. She said they should be ok. He doesn't eat a huge amount of them. It's like his night time thing to go and crack pellets and throw them at me ...
He won't eat beetroot... he's not fussed on carrots or corn... he likes snow peas.
I'm always at a loss because he's so fussy. He hates frozen veg thats thawed .. even if i heat it a little.
He likes fresh but so fussy.
I cut fruit right down.
He might get 2 raspberries ... or some small bits of pear or Kiwi. But not much. If I do give him something it's always only a tiny bit.

Yeast “eat” sugar and carbohydrates. I would cut down on sweet or starchy foods.

Maybe don’t let bird overeat so you know the crop empties in between meals?

I suddenly realised I probably contributed to it.
I used to eat proper sourdough if I ate bread.
And birdie would get a teeny piece of toast. And really small because didn't want him eating too much of it.
But I changed bread thinking it was good but the yeast content was quite high
Where the sourdough had no added yeast.
I just didn't think.
I really cut down his fruit.
And he does like mash potatoes if I have some.
I changed to sweet potato and he's not keen. So he's stopping himself luckily.
I've always been a bit paranoid about the food I give him. Making sure it's fresh and not fatty.
If I give him anything its always small.
I've changed the way I do his chop.
Then I started worrying about his pellets ...
I just need to trust myself a bit more ... we still have 7 days of medicine left.
I'm not sure how is getting on. It's seems to be flicked all over me 🤣
