Very very uncontrollably extremely excited!

About as beautiful as a bird can get - amazing! Congratulations!

So cool! And yay for the harness training :D

Ash is VERY beautiful! She is a very fortunate bird going to such an experienced owner. Given your background with parrots, do you plan to free-fly her in 'safe' areas as she gets older and more bonded?

Thanks everyone for sharing my excitement :D

The breeder is doing an excellent job so far - not only is she being well socialised, but she is also harness trained and recall trained.

I do plan on free flying her once she's fully trained. I'd also like to train some basic behaviours (open wings, open tail, etc) so we can use her for our educational shows :)

Ash is really looking good! And great find in that breeder! She's actually coming to you well socialized, harness trained and recall trained?!? Talk about trifecta!

How often do you get to go see her? Has she actually flown, yet?

I am REALLY excited to see updates and future pics of this beauty! Up until a couple weeks ago... I did not even know black toos existed!

Tell me about it!
I actually haven't even met her yet - she's a 16 hour drive away, so I won't actually be meeting her until I go to pick her up!
It will be a bit of a hard transition for her, but hopefully she copes well.

She has flown indoors, nothing outdoors yet :)

Indoors is good enough for her to fledge, so long as she gets to fly regularly, so great!

And yeah, it might be a bit of a tough transition at first, but between how well socialized she apparently is and how much effort I know you'll be putting in to ease that transition for her, I'm sure she'll be just fine. I bet you can hardly wait, eh?

As soon as she's comfortable with me and with her flying, I'll start fitness training with her :)
A fitter bird is a safer bird when it comes to free-flying!

Haha I'm counting down the hours...
I have my hands full with chicks at the moment, so at least I'm keeping busy.

DNA results are in - she's a she!
She'll be coming to me in late November/early December, assuming she weans ok. She's on solids now, although she still enjoys an afternoon feed apparently :D

Here's a pic of her and "Pinkie" her galah friend:
