Tom the Con-Man and the Flock!

Isn't it terrible going into pet shops and not being able to take ALL of those beautiful babies home?! I almost got sucked in to buying a moustached parakeet not so long ago, s/he was just the sweetest little thing šŸ˜ Would've been a very expensive buy though cos I'd have had to pay for an extension on the house to fit in yet ANOTHER bird cage, that was pretty much the only thing that stopped me!
It just kills me! I try to avoid going, but sometimes I need things!

Romeo looks so pretty in these pictures

Me too! šŸ˜
Heā€™s doing really well! The stains have completely disappeared and heā€™s stopped sneezing more than normal. Heā€™s been playing more too and luckily he didnā€™t hate me after medication! He lets me pick him up just like before.

Oh that's great to hear! I have to medicate Fang for his heart condition every day, I've been doing it for a few years now and I thought he'd hate me for it but he doesn't, thank goodness! I think they are mostly a lot more forgiving than we think šŸ’

Really? Is it an oral medication? Maybe birds realize that weā€™re trying to help them, or that after they receive the medicine they start to feel better?

Yep, he's on Pimobendan and it's delivered via a syringe, thankfully he's doing pretty well on it so far. He always starts out by fighting me but it's tutti-frutti flavoured so once he gets that taste of it he goes "oh yeah, I remember this stuff, it tastes pretty good!" and down the hatch it goes :)

At least he eats it and likes it!

Yep! Theyā€™re not technically mine as I donā€™t care for them, my sister does.
We have three Rhode Island reds and a red bantam rooster.
I donā€™t have any pictures of them, Iā€™ll try and remember to get some tomorrow!

Wow, that was a lucky escape that snake "only" managed to take eggs. My dad encountered a carpet snake in his chicken run when he lived in Kuranda in Far North Queensland that was so fat and couldn't move cos it had eaten 5 of his chickens!!

I love carpets pythons! šŸ˜
But that is not lovely to discover! 5 whole chickens? Thatā€™s crazy!

Yeah my dad loved them too until one ate his chooks. It was a very long time ago now, but from memory I don't that particular snake survived the encounter, cos my dad was NOT happy!

That birdie bread looks amazing! How do you make it?

I buy it from this site:

She sells the base mixes. Thought the instructions call for 1 cup of water/low sodium chicken or veggie stock which I think is odd.
I replace swap that with 1 cup of chop thatā€™s mixed with water instead.
It also calls for baking powder and I just leave that out.

Oh thank you! Great idea with the chop too - thatā€™s why it looks so good. Iā€™ll have to try this. I wonder if I could make less than an entire panā€¦. Like just a few muffins. Itā€™s harder to make these and use it all with just one tiny bird.

Iā€™m sure your could half the recipe by using just half of the bag and then just using one egg etc.
I hope Ona likes it! All of mine do.
