I love the upside down show-off 'tiel shot-save that for a future contest- it's a winner!

Have you ever used a CO2 injection system on your live plant tanks?
Not any of the tanks I have now. It’s just too expensive, even making your own is too much.
It takes more patience, as the plants grow more slowly.
There are benefits though, you are less likely to have algae problems without Co2.

It is an expensive set up and can be fraught with problems. I used UV sterilizers to eliminate "green water" algae. I didn't have problems with other algae most of the time except an occasional bad bloom of blue-green algae that erythromycin takes care of.

Yeah true.
I don’t really have algae problems.

If you have enough fast growing stem plants and slow growers, they essentially starve out the algae.

I thought about UV sterilizers but I’m not sure they’d be of much use to me.

UV sterilizers are really only good for green water algae, parasitic diseases with a free swimming stage (think Ick), and "white/gray water" cloudiness (think "new tank syndrome") Algae on surfaces is not affected.

Eggies, on day 34.

Striga's just gorgeous, look at those sweet little budgie feetsies 😍 I love how all of your flock get on so well together too, although like mine they probably have their moments!

Everyone who sees him thinks he’s the prettiest bird I have 😅 all of the relatives are smitten.
Well, hehe, they don’t all get along. Tony and Tom can’t be out together but both of them get along with the budgies. Tom and Striga are good friends.
The tiels do okay with Tom but not with Tony 😬

I just love your budgies! I would love to put six my budgies together in one big cage but I worry about compatibility. What are the dimensions of your budgie cage? How many birds live in that cage? Do they ever fight?

Oh thank you!
The cage is 32’ W x 32’ H x 21’ D
In all four budgies live in it. Three males and one female.
They all get along well. An occasional bicker happens, usually between the female Hedwig and the mauve male Grim, but they settle it within seconds.

I think they all do well because they’re fed from a plate and they can all eat without fighting over it.
Many equally desirable perches are at the highest point in the cage, at least 4 at that height so they can fight over sleeping spots.

What kind of room do your birds live in ? It almost looks like a big bright garage but I can't figure out what the blue "tarps" are and what purpose they have other than to make it look like the sky. Do all your birds fly around in there together? How many birds do you have? Are they ever locked up in their cages or do they have free run of the place?

Me and my family are temporarily living in a garage of sorts.
My birds cages are in an 8x13 tent.
Our house will be finished in 2-4 months

In all I have 9 parrots, and then Milly the house sparrow, but she is on the other side of the garage.
Their time outside must be supervised as certain birds do not get along.
The flock consists of a Quaker, a GCC, three tiels, and four budgies.

Overall, it’s not a perfect situation but it will be! Hopefully sooner rather than later.

It actually looks pretty pleasant and the birds certainly look happy but I'm sure you're eager to get your whole family into your house. It kinda looks like you are living in an airplane hanger or a giant grow house. It must be difficult to heat. Where do you keep all your fish?
