Gail: if you *ever* need another parrot: Sunny fell in love with your voice!
The moment I started that youtube she first froze for a few seconds... and then joined in!

(She never does that)

=

(she did not receive a pistacio from me - I just cant find any around here- from what I heard the last harvest was a fail and appearantly no-one in NL bothered to buy/ get their hands on any)

Lea, Christa... the Rb and I are proud to contribute our two little cents, ya know?
Well, I contribute my dulcet voice and the Rb contributes his two little pistachios!

Friends, the benefits of parronting The Rickeybird defy description or itemization, but... every now and then I must try.
Patagonians are one of the few semi-nocturnal parrots, so they roam, eat, play, and occasionally reassure the burrows at night with a lullabye.
Imagine the joys of this midnight serenade...
Ah, rapture!

Rickeybird your midnight serenade caused Lilly Pilly to drop everything and come a-running. Those cyber-spirit-demon-spawn are one step closer!

How have I been sleeping without that serenade?

Oh, Rickeybird!

I am a strange, weird, twisted, demented, crazy individual. And this is how my friends and family describe me when they are being nice.

Sometimes you worry even me. LOL :D

Don't get me wrong. I absolutely LOVE The RB and his human slaves!

Oh, good people.................... good people................... good people.

Good people..................................

EEEEEEK! The dump apparently dumped some very memorable posts concerning the Rb's midnight serenade, along with my replies and thanks!
I'll be darned.
Well, thanks again, anyway!
I know I answered some questions about how often these serenades occur, and what inspires them.
*They last from 30 seconds to about three minutes.
*They often occur when a toilet flushes, or a person sneezes, or his room is invaded.
*They happen maybe 5 times a month.

He went to see his doctor yesterday for a routine appointment. Dr. Lindstrom has a house full of parrots, none of whom "sing" at night, much to his satisfaction. Oh, and the Rb's hematocrit is 55.5, in the normal range according to most! No seizures in six months, and his heart sounded great. Looks as if the Vasotec has reversed and controlled his heart issue!

Sing on, Rb!

Yes, I will attest to the authenticity of this vid. The stuff of nightmares. If an incubus were to try to hum "Hello, My Honey", it would sound like this.

Mr. T Richard Bird,

Congratulations on your recent checkup! Excellent news about your ticker. My flock wishes you good health and a long life.

PS: Could you MAYBE find a little soft spot in your now healthy heart for The Rival?

As official scrapbook archivist let me start with some blast from the past vet humor.

Next, I shall win you over by telling you that when we are at the office of The Great Satan (aka the vet), the Bird often thinks highly of me. He steps up, hides behind my neck, says KIRBY in a very pleasant tone and just in general finds me an acceptable fellow rooster. Any port in a storm, I suppose.
And I confess to feeling a slight impulse of tenderness towards the little demon at such times. Slight. There. ~groan~

Very nice! Any port in a storm, indeed.

Happy women’s day to all hens!
