This is Blue. He was adopted from a shelter. He’s about 22 years old. I’m his 4th owner. His very first owner put him in a basement (dark) hoping it would make him quiet. Which doesn’t work… so it lead up to the owner hitting Blue with a broom when he screamed, and he ended up breaking his wing. He’s actually a very sweet bird. I was provided the very last owners email. She wanted to keep in contact with Blue. I plan on emailing her to find out more about his past. It sounds like she is going through a divorce. She had 4 Ekkie’s, and Blue. She couldn’t take them all with her as she was moving. So Blue went a shelter, along with one of the Ekkie’s. Now he’s with me.

Now he’s with me.
And he couldn't be in better hands. I'm so sorry for everything he went through, that's so heartbreaking, but I'm happy for him because he's in the best place now that he could possibly be 💝

Awwwwww, congratulations! Welcome to the flock, Blue! Oh my goodness, he's gorgeous! I'm so excited to hear more about him as he settles into your family. ❤️

Big Parrots can either be standoffish or really lovey, especially those than have been abused. Building Trust is critical at this point as at some point, he may begin pushing to see what he can get away with. No assurance as to which you may see. But, Love fully, but remember to Trust, but verify!

Idiots as defined by past owners are real, but a previously abused Big Parrot can be a handful.
Remember that these honeymoon periods are very important to set a trust in place!

Big Parrots can bite by accident, it is your responsibility to identify, which it was!

Enjoy! They can and want to be Lovers! Give him the comfort to be that Parrot!

It’s just strange watching him break through all nuts within seconds. None of my other parrots can do this. His claws leave indents in my arms when he just sits on my arm. He’s so strong!
