A book recommendation for you (you might already have this): “Games and House Design for Parakeets” by Hildegard’s Niemann, Barron, US, 2013. It has toy-View attachment 44533 and perch-making instructions and a lot more!
I'll check it out, but my budgies are very flying-and-recall oriented as opposed to the budgies I commonly see in books, which are more toy/cuddle oriented. Mine rarely play with toys, and would recall every day if I let them. Thanks for the recommendation!

There are plans for a number of perches and a very nice multi perch activity center that you could build yourself. That’s why I thought of you.

Those birds have a nice setup!!

Will they get to use their outdoor aviary any more this year or will it wait until spring?

It's regularly going into the 30's here, so they'll have to wait until next spring, sadly.

I have a weird and random question Stormy (and any other budgie owners)….do your birbs like to bite/nibble on your fingernails??? Cozy is starting to do this to me (in a non-aggressive way) and uhhhh just wanted to see if anyone else’s budgie is as delightfully weird as mine 🫣

Yeah, all 3 of mine do that. It can be for a lot of reasons (the bird is preening you out of affection, just being hormonal, etc)

Occasionally mine do it. It's not a big deal, usually they are just slightly annoyed at me because I won't give them treats. Sometimes, if there is a fight on my hand (between my two territorial girls), I will use my thumb to separate them. The offender (usually Apollo) will then "spar" with my thumb for a couple seconds, then realize that my hand is living and she can't get to Picasso anymore.
