A call for cockatiels! In an attempt to get people to post once in a while, HOW many tiels do you have and what mutations (if known) Posting pictures of your birds would be great as well.

You might be better off starting a new thread with that specific question-- sometimes diary-type threads don't get the same response as a specific question.

0 tiels here ;)

I don't know what I was thinking really. Few if any pay attention here or elsewhere.

That's not it-- it's that people look at their leisure and then the thread gets buried.

I have one 16 year old boy named Precious.

He likes to pick at seams on clothing. Especially jeans.

I don't have one, but I've known several. They all were very friendly little guys, not shy of strangers, most accepted scratchies from me. Jim's BeeBee is a good example, he flew right over to my shoulder and started talking in my ear when we first met.

There is lots an lots of cockatiels here on the forum, I think they are like the #3 or2 parrot in terms of popularity.

1 budgies
2 parakeets
3 cockatiels
4 green cheek or other conures

Most, but not all folks, who come to the forums here do so because they have some sort of a problem with their parrot. Maybe we don;t see a huge number of Cockatiels here is because they are pretty mellow in disposition, and rarely have issues. But I am sure with 11 of them it can get pretty lively at your place!

Only one tiel here..A normal grey..first tiel I've ever had,he is now 4 y.o. got him at 4.5 months. This forum helped me decide what to get when I was looking for a second fid. ( always had two fids for 30+ years) BB is a brat,a goofball,a talker/whistler who is super bonded to me. He likes his uncle David and will allow skritches galore, tolerates Amy ( who is infatuated with him)
All and all he is a groovy little guy :04:

My girl is a cinnamon pied (I think?) - she had 3 or 4 homes before us and came to me a couple of years ago. She loves my husband, and tolerates me if she has no other option for attention :). Her name is Screamer (I didn’t name her) but we mostly call her The Diva, Princess or the Dragon Lady (for the face she makes at me when I ask her to step up). I love her to bits, but alas, I am relegated to being her chef and cage cleaner.

:yellow1:Two eventual mothers! An interesting story about these two. We purchased them both from a breeder at the same time. Dacey (R.I.P) in the for ground gave us our first clutch of babies last year and Woody in the background was suppose to be a male according to this breeder and DNA test. Well...Woody gave us our second clutch a little over a month ago now. Since these two and our male Kiwi were cage mates, he latched onto Woody after Dacey passed.

Love all of the new additions!!

I'd say this thread is doing remarkably well! After two months there are 88 posts and 3,860+ views. Other than Hannah's sad roller coaster ride with Pip, you'd have to go back to early 2018 for a thread that comes close. That ran for two years and achieved fewer posts but more visits to date.

I'm so glad to see this thread is on a roll. Besides posting my own stuff, I ALWAYS enjoy reading about and seeing pictures of other peoples birds!:04:

Young male Peanut with his mother Woody in the background. I just happened to be present when these two perched on top another groups cage today.:yellow1:

He's so cute! I still think of "Smee" whenever I see his little bird beard!

You may have already said this - but what is their color/pattern called? I love the pattern on them :)

Jen, This may be incorrect but I'm calling Both Woody and Peanut the pied mutation. Now the two females from this clutch are pearl pieds as they get that from Kiwi's side. Oddly enough, Kiwi LOOKS like a full on normal grey now but he started off as a pearl when he was a baby!

:eek:A few older shots along with 7 tiels just hangin out on top the conure cage!

We have two females that I feel pretty sure would make good show material if we ever decide to try and this mess with Covid ever ends! The first one is our oldest bird, Pepper. She is now three years old and is a pearl. The second one is a much younger female Auzzie. She is a cinnamon pearl pied.

Funny you should mention that. About the only time it really gets noisy is when your on the phone TRYING to talk to someone!!! It's almost like they know! And oh yes......the headcount is up to 14 tiels but two we are selling to good homes.
