eek! always scary-- hate broken feathers-- my hands get all shaky and I really have trouble staying calm (not because of the blood-- that doesn't bother me) but because I get so worried/panicked for the bird!

Glad you were able to stop it.

Did you ever read my advice on using albums instead of attachments?
Glad to see you back btw!

Yes, I will give it a try with the next pics. The last post I did about Boo's time line, I used the paperclip attachment symbol (which I'd never done) it pretty much did the same thing. Oh well....at least the pics are still there!:D

OUR SECOND OLDEST MALE COCKATIEL that doesn't get a lot of press! That would be our bird Ziggy. Actually he was our third tiel after Pepper and Kiwi. Ziggy is pretty laid back and use to put up with lots of crap from Kiwi....the older ( Alpha male ) of the entire flock! Poor Ziggy WANTS to be Peppers mate so bad he can't stand it but she wont have him. If he's lucky, there ARE days she will let him preen her! :25: The attached photos are of Ziggy a few days before we even brought him home back on Sept. 20 2017! The other photo was taken of him 10 minutes ago!

I guess keeping with the theme regarding Ziggy, we could think of Pepper (Our first and oldest hen) as Lady Astor! She already thinks she is anyway and in Ziggy's eyes she hangs the moon! Pepper has always been pretty much a standalone bird. She's VERY particular about how she's scratched and if you do it wrong, you WILL be corrected!:34:

TODAY IS WOODY'S BIRTHDAY! :53: Our female pied hen and the mother of our last clutch is two years old today! She is a well behaved bird and will step up even when she doesn't really want too. We never have bed-time problems with her like many others. Happy B-day sweety!

:07:Our youngest sweetheart, Matilda. She was the second to last hatch from Kiwi and Woody's clutch a few months ago. She's coming along just fine and is getting better every day at stepping up.

Gosh they are all so pretty....I have to remind myself that my flock does not need to grow any more (I have one tiel and have always wanted a second, and all your pics are making me think about it again lol).

Well Jen, I have a t-shirt that you should get. It has two cool tiel photos on the front and says.....Cockatiels are like potato chips, you can't have just one!

fourteen tiels...and I can barely put up with one! My little guy hasn't S.T.H.U today..he's been going at it since 8am.Usually he is fairly quiet until late afternoon. Even Amy is extra vocal today...must be something in the air

FIRST of all I don't want anyone taking this as a complaint rather just very curious. It never ceases to amaze me when I look at this thread since I started it and note the number of views. What's frustrating is few (if any response.) If it were not for folks like noodles and a few moderators, there'd be no response at all! Are you guys REALLY that shy or just don't have anything to say? Heck, if nothing else, post about YOUR bird(s.) I can report that we are done to 13 tiels now. We sold one of the younger females from the last clutch yesterday. Even though we were in the early stages of teaching her to step up, this girl was tickled to death with this little pied female.

I love the pics and hearing about your flock, I enjoy keeping up with them. I talk too much all day, and have generally used up all my words by the time I get online :). Love the shirt!

Well THANK you Jen. I appreciate your response. I guess the NEWS of today is the fact that our two youngest males: Peanut and Tiki are BOTH wolf whistling now!!! Of coarse it could be there both missing the little female we sold Sunday that was there cage mate.

THIS could be the reason Tiki has started wolf whistling.....seems he's taken a shine to Matilda! Only one little problem....she's his sister!!!

Yes...Tiki is kinda the odd man out. He looks nothing like his other three clutch mates. Actually I wish SOMEONE with a lot more experience with different mutations could tell me how he (Tiki ) came to be. Kiwi, the dad was a pearl when he was young but now looks like a regular normal grey! Woody, the mother is a simple pied with dark grey and yellow feathers. As many of you have probably noticed, Peanut looks like a miniature version of his mother Woody!
