Hi! I am new to parrots forums and I recently became a new cockatiel mommy to 2 gray female tiels and about 2 weeks ago I noticed a small discoloration in her beak I searched it up and asked a few people, and they said that it was fine and it would go away soon nothing to worry about. But today I looked and realized that there were actually a Small hole on the side of her beak she has been eating fine and playing and preening I have her on a good diet of veggies pellets and some seeds occasionally other than the little hole on the side of her beak she seems perfectly happy and healthy. Does anyone one know what is going on? Any info is appreciated!!!

Here is the image of the small hole.

I can't see it- try going to your profile screen (click your name and upload it to an album).

Click your username- on the right side of your screen in a panel, scroll down and you should see "albums"- from there, you should be able to add. I tried to see the docs link and couldn't.

ok be right back to try sorry i just joined today and things are still kinda new

You can copy the photo link that shows up below the image in your album (when you click the picture) and paste it into the url bar that pops up when you click the image that looks like the mountain above the message box. Definitely get this bird checked out if it is new, but consider the fact that bobbing in general is usually a sign of illness (even if it isn't contagious).

I would post it here and maybe others will chime in. Personally, I have never seen that before, but I imagine there are those who have.

I opened it, right clicked, copied image URL and then clicked the mountain above the message bar to post. I hope others respond!!!

You are very welcome- sorry I didn't actually answer your question!! If no one replies, you can keep this alive my replying to yourself, or posting a new thread with different pictures etc-- TBH, a close-up might help, but I still couldn't help even if I saw it up-close, as that is unique to my experience.

Hard to say if that is an injury or otherwise. Best to seek the advice of an avian vet as if that gets infected it could cause damage that may, or may not, last the lifetime of the bird.
