A couple of days ago I bought a camera to monitor my Caique while he's sleeping. I position it behind his cage when I cover it so I can see inside and see how he's holding up.
Generally his head has been turned away from the camera most nights, and combined with the silence and lack of movement it feels like he's sleeping. However, today I finally got a night where he rested facing the other way, and to my surprise for the majority of the evening he kind of just sat there in silence with his eyes half open, occasionally shutting and occasionally fully opening. It looks more like he's constantly on the verge of sleep.
My Caique's cage is in the same room I live and tend to spend my evenings, and his lack of response to me during these periods (even while making light conversation or watching something) made me feel like he was just in deep sleep and unbothered. But now it feels more like he's on the verge of sleep and I worry I might be keeping him up.
Is this something to be worried about, or is this just how Caiques rest/sleep?
