I had a Quaker Parrot named Nikki who lived for 19 years
I grew up with Budgerigars named Screech, Zoar and Blue Baby
Anyone here only use them for part of the year like the warmer months? Right now there sleep cage is in my room because there is AC. However my room does not have blackout shards. They only have a black cage cover. I’d this enough?

I really like having a sleek cage but don’t have a lot of space? I am considering using the walk in closet but worry the birds will get overheated sleeping in there in the warmer months. .

How hot can a room be?. Not all rooms have ac and it can get up to 80 degrees in hot months.

I would guess that 80F is ok. My son and his gf have a sleep cage in their walk in closet for their cockatiel and it's been working really well so far.

My living room where Cotton's cage is was 89F when I got home today but he's naked and likes it warm - I try to keep one side of his cage around 85F.
