Mr. Precious is such a Diva at shower time. Then he runs back & forth on the shower door as I try to blow dry him. He hates the dryer on his tail feathers. Today he started biting at the warm air. It was so funny. :D

In sunny California today, 89 degrees on my deck, (ouch, we need rain and snow), I was washing my dogs and Amigo flew up into the oak above us for his shower. It's been a couple weeks since he's bathed, due to the cold, so he was loving it! I spray the hose above him like it's rain, he flips upside down, then butt in the air, dancing and squawking all the while. Showers are such a treat!

I wish my YNA Sluggie would enjoy bathing. He doesn't like being sprayed with a water bottle and the one time I took him in the shower with me he seemed to really enjoy it he was singing and taking and just carrying on like crazy. Then I took him out and put him on his perch so I could finish my shower. He kept on singing and talking like crazy. So I get out of the shower and he continues talking and carrying on while I shaved. Then I went over to his perch and he put his foot out to step up so I stupidly put my hand out and as soon as he got on my hand he dug right into my thumb and wasn't planning on letting go. So I had to shake him off so I could survey the damage. He has a crazy sharp beak and he knows how to use it like a samurai warrior. So I picked up his perch and carried him back downstairs to his cage and put him on the top so I could attend to my wounds. He has multiple personality disorder I think...... I can go for a month without having any problems with him and then out of nowhere he will just lash out and tear into my flesh for no apparent reason.

Yeah, Yellownape...my husband knows the feeling. He's actually been online looking at sights for falconer gloves! I'm not very familiar with Amazons but I know my U2 would not like the shower, only because his previous owner told me this. I used to spray a water bottle above him, imitating a light rainfall, and if conditions were right, meaning temp, time of day, mood...he would love it! Otherwise, he would look at me like I was abusing him. Parrots truly are special!

I have used the spray bottle on Pete, but didn't find it very effective on him. It seems perhaps amazons are more oily than some birds as the water mostly just rolls right off. He likes it though and even wants to drink out of the nozzle, lol! The shower is much better at cleaning him and getting that dander down.

I use the spray bottle with Pearl. She doesn't like it and it's hilarious. She turns around on my knee(I ist and set her there while misting) and she turns around and jumps from about 5 inches expecting to fly.Its very amusing.

Out of about 40 zons i have one who doesn't like a shower, his mate goes crazy and flips upside down and all that crazy zon stuff, him, he just stands there and looks like he's suffering. One thing about zons, there's no gray area, they either like it or they don't.

My blue fronted doesn't like shower , at least he is not a fan of shower. He enjoys a big spray once a week but no more than once.
My new panama is a really big fan of shower. He seems like shower every day but I just give him twice a week.

I have found Tika loves showers. It was warm yesterday and when I was in her cage changing her water my hands were wet, boy oh boy she got so excited by just the touch of my wet hands I had to let her have a soak. She loves the shower, I just take her in with me. I made her a little PVC perch to hang out out. I didn't think twice about blowing her dry since it is still winter - even here in Cali, I wanted to make super sure she was dry. I had no issues, I'm really finding she seems to just go along with anything I am confident in m approach about doing.

My Farley loves showers or the mist bottle. He sings, talks and flaps his wings like crazy while he's getting wet. Even when I turn on the kitchen sink and use the sprayer to clean dishes he goes nuts hearing and seeing the spraying water. He'd take one everyday if I had time.

I did find a better spray bottle with a more powerful mist, and now Pete is even happier yet than he was with the first one. And he likes the blow dryer.

My Bella loves the blow dryer, she don't get nervous she just sits there and let's me do it. Of course I can't get her completely dry but I get the majority of her dry.
