Tasmania. Australia

Hi, i live in the Lower state of Australia, Tasmania, and as you can believe there are next to no breeders(respectable breeders) of macaws here.

At this time i myself or my family is not ready for the bird but will be in months time.

The contract details of known, respectable breeders that can do freight Or other means of Delivery/Pickup in Australia or even nearby countries would be Greatly appreciated, Adoptions are also an interest as mine because as i myself am new to the whole bird raising business isn't something i believe i can do.

Note; this is NOT An impulse decision, i have researched for many weeks about parrots, their health, attention requirements and my ultimate decision came down to macaws.

There is a good one in Perth but don’t know if they will arrange air freight to get it to Tasmania? Are we aloud to mention shops by name on here? Send me a private message and I’ll give you the URL are there none in Melbourne that way you could maybe ferry it across?

Yes, you can mention shops by name. The line is only drawn at advertising or posting links to CL. But thank you for considering forum rules and such before acting. Much appreciated.

The OP would need more posts before the private messaging options would be unlocked, however. (Until a new member has made 20 contributing posts, they are only able to PM with Super Moderators.)

That’s cool then, the shop in Perth I know hand rears blue and golds is called ‘birds n all’ about $3500 each but the ones I have seen have been very healthy and the adults were all very happy being handled even by strangers. They also breed black cockatoos for release to increase the endangered populations here. But as I said Perth is 1000s of miles from Tasmania so might be best to look in Melbourne for someone that can transport?
