Well back to the drawing board on the flagpole trick. Salty's razor sharp beak just sliced right thru the string i used like it was butter! This was nylon twine, used for stuff like plumb bob weights and similar. Any suggestions?

I wonder if a thick or braided fishing line would work?

I have to use hemp rope for my larger parrot when I make him new toys. Not sure how that compares to nylon twine. Those large beaks go through everything.

Trying some industrial construction cord later today. I will not give up! My wife knows that about me. I keep tinkering until I find what works! I mean look at my set up for Saltys play area - chain hanging from ceiling, a big ass stainless steel bowl hanging under his prime feeding station. Our clean up takes minutes instead of hours. THis latest set back is childs play.

Yesterday, new chop day! Roughly same recipe as last time, tweeked a lil bit.

double handfuls of Habanero peppers
double handfuls of red chilies
big handful of jalapeno peppers
2 red bell peppers
1 green pepper
2 radicchio
3 broccoli heads
3 can corn, rinsed and drained
1 can black beans, ditto
3/4 lb pasta, single ingredient, no salt, no added vitamins
1 bundle organic kale
2 bundles leafy parsley
1 pound Brussel sprouts, chopped
1 lb tub chopped sweet taters
2 lb bags matchstick carrots

Oh months and months. THis was 26 1 quart baggies filled about 1/2 way. Freeze them and then I bash with a chicken hammer and serve out 2/3 cup after zapping it.
