Hereā€™s my chest of books!

You could always call him Cornhole when he's being naughty!
Girl budgies really are great! Rocky can be a little nippy but she let me give her full kisses on her beak today over and over again! She's such a good girl! We've been staying in a hotel room with her for almost a week now while we recover from Covid (cough, sleep, cough, sleep, cough, sleep) and our new floors are being finished. We had to smuggle her in under cover of darkness (we really are Budgie Smugglers now) because they didn't allow birds. Had to put her in a birdie backpack under a blanket and dismantle a cage, sneak in the parts and reassemble it cause no way can she live in a backpack for over a week! But she's been such a good bird! She's mostly kept quiet (for a bird) and loves exploring every nook and cranny of the hotel room. She enjoys the free Continental breakfasts (hard boiled eggs=yum) and the view from the window. Fortunately little budgie poops are so easy to clean up. She sat on my head today chattering away, saying "Baby Budgie Baby Bird"! So YES girl budgies CAN TALK!

Ooh you are so devious! I woulda never thought about this if I had to sneak Rico in somewhere! You are one deviously sneaky person and I admire that!

I had to- Rocky goes EVERYWHERE with us! We just took a 400 mile each way road trip to NJ to visit family and she's a great traveler. Doesn't complain at all. She took her first short road trip to the vet at three weeks in dead of winter and my husband stopped where I was working (Lowes) on the way home with Rocky stuffed on his pocket to surprise me and everyone else with a loud chirping appearance. She was still being handfed every four hours and she was hungry! He walked in with Rocky chirping at the top of her lungs and everyone was like "what is THAT NOISE" and out popped little Rocky! She was a real hit! Three weeks later she took her first NJ road trip for Christmas, so she's used to it now. I believe in exposing young birds to lots of new experiences so they don't grow up fearful. Rocky's not afraid of anything.

That is absolutely crazy! Rico would be so mad at me! He would be so angry he would bite me instead of taking treats! Rocky is a brave birby!

I love that name so much! But I gotta keep in mind that if my budgie lives to move out with me and Rico and in with my best friend, he may request I change its name because his dad has trauma tied to that name with a cockatiel? I dunno, I donā€™t get it, but I am gonna respect that, even though I find it a bit odd.

Absolutely respect someone's grief/trauma.

Yeah, they are my best friend so I am respecting it. Just like they respect my fear of avocados and dogs.

Edit: to preface, this tiel died years before he (my bestie) even existed. The whole time he has been alive, he hasnā€™t had any pet birds. The closest he had was my budgies whenever heā€™d visit and his teacherā€™s birds.

I thought of a few more!

If itā€™s nippy: Cartman, piranha, Edward scissorbeak, and gremlin (gremmy for short)

If itā€™s yellow, or a yellow pied: Cricket, firefly (the bug or flower), Lily, waffles, butters

If itā€™s got a bubbly personality: Buttons, rue (idk why this one but yes), chibi (cheebs for short)

If itā€™s albino, looks albino, or is primarily white: pearl, star, sugar (the three basic white bird names šŸ¤Ŗ)

If it is flighty: jet (get it? Flighty and jets fly?), chicken, and waffles.

Thatā€™s all I can think of

A flighty bird- what a concept!

Fear of avocados? Hmmm.

Waffles- yummy.

SugarStar would be cool for a white budgie.

I had a budgie (tea) who was super flighty and would get very scared easily.

Yeah, I have a phobia of avocados. Itā€™s not severe or anything but I find them gross and a bit unsettling to look at.

the funny thing is I donā€™t even like waffles as a food! I just find it to be a cute name!

Ooh what about Nova? Like a supernova (star death)! That would be SO cool!

Nova- Very cool.
Speaking of waffles, my friend has a GCC named Pancake.

Rocky's Mama is a big beautiful English Budgie that we named Lilibet (aka Lilibelle) after Queen Elizabeth, because:
1. She's English
2. It was Queen Elizabeth's childhood nickname
3. It was the Queen's big Platinum anniversary last year
4. She's a real pretty budgie with an extremely aloof attitude unless she wants to breed- then she's quite the seductress!
We call Lilibet "That English hussey"!

I wonder if cartoons can rot Rocky's mind. We've been holed up in a hotel room together now for over a week while I recover from Covid and watch Teen Titans on cable TV. It's actually hilarious and not too violent for her tender young mind (or my tender old one)! I haven't watched 'toons for decades, and this show is actually very clever. Either that or it's MY mind that's rotting from watching too many fart and poop jokes and eating take out Chinese. Rocky loves noodles, rice and veggies. I just rinse the sauce of her portion.

I should be working on Rocky's more academic pursuits like learning her colors like Ona's mom does. Ona is one incredibly smart little bird!
