Vosmaeri and congos
Hello everyone. I have 2 bonded pairs of vosmaeri eclectus.
I have one hen for her first chick from start of December in her box. I checked it everyday and pulled it out a couple times to check on it and never had a problem with it and her. Everything was fantastic. Unfortunately as it was 21 days old I found it dead in the box. No physical damage. That day I closed her box and removed it. Cleaned the nest next day and she was very quiet and finally got into her box a couple days after. She spends a little in there and mostly out. I just want to know what might be her cycle process if she wants to breed again

I"m so sorry the baby died. It must have been very sad and

I dont know anything about breeding Eclectus (I've only bred budgies), but many birds will replace a lost clutch assuming they sense there's enough time left in the breeding season to raise chicks.

I read the Wikipedia article on Eclectus parrots and they are so interesting. The behavior section discusses their fascinating breeding habits.

Can you send that link it to me please 🙂

I dont know how to send a link but if you Google "Eclectus wikipedia" and open the Wikipedia article it gives you a lot of information. If you Google search "eclectus breeding" there are several good articles on the subject.
Did you know that eclectus are not really monogamous? They both cheat if they can! And groups of them can raise chicks together. The hen rarely leaves her nestbox (how boring) and depends on the male to feed her.
