I have 1 baby Quaker and 2 parakeet birds and my parrot seems to be obsessed with always being on top of the parakeet cage and even sleeping on it and when I move the cage he gets upset and squawks until I put it back. Any advice

Welcome to the forums!

I don't have advice but I know we do have members with Quakers and budgies, so hopefully someone more knowledgeable than me chimes in.

Your birds sure are cute, though!

MONITOR their behavior......

But usually quakers and other parrots like budgies.... I have 4 budgies that sleep with my quaker.

the quaker even puts out fights between them. You can se it start inside the cage then come out to break up the fight.

But watch them! A Budgie is no match for a quaker. TAKE IT SLOW.

OH.....forgot to mention,

Also Quakers are a communal species, they sometimes live in flocks of literally hundreds of birds in a large group nest. The bird wants to be around other birds....and you, because it is very high on the social scale.

Consider that on any decision involving a quaker, they evolved with huge extended families.

Ok cool thanks so it is possible for them to be friends and hang out sometime nice to know

Quakers are highly social as mentioned.
I don't recommend housing in sane cage. But can be out of cage together under your supervision.

And you might need to increase tge amount of time you are spending wuth your quaker. Mine seem to ned an hour of cuddling at least. Abd several hours hanging out with me

Yup. Quakers are fantastic little birds but I hear they find budgie and cockatiel toes tasty.

It’s kind of like having a big active kid playing with smaller kids. It’s not that the bigger kid means to be naughty but if he’s bigger then the little guys can get run over.

In some cases, yes. In others, no. I would not reccomend housing them in the same cage.
Oh I totally understand he has his own cage but I have a play gym perch both the Quaker and parakeet sit on but the Quaker tries to chase the small bird but he has clipped wings so can’t fly we’ll just yet

In this case it’s probably lucky for the budgie that the Quaker has been clipped.
But, Quakers tend to get chunky and being flighted helps to counteract that.

Do you plan on letting your Quaker have full wings after the next molt?
