Parrots
Used to have alot fo parrots. But right now only have a Male Ekki
A friend of mine, got a blue and gold macaw, which just about 4mths old. And his beak and chin, abit dented and curve! So I ask him eat well and drink well. He reply me say yes, and very healthy and alert!!! So can I say this is a defect macaw? Normally ppl mention defected which either missing toe, or miss nail!!! Ects..

There is nothing to worry about. From the looks of it, when he was on formula, he would only take it on one side and his soft beak curved away from that side. It is something that will not go away but is not anything that will affect the bird adversely.

It is only a defect if you see it as one. A minor curve is nothing.

I have a Scarlet with a major curve in his beak. He is 16 years old, happy and healthy.
His only issue is he need a little help preening his tail feathers.

Maybe can share ur scarlet pic with me?

This type of issues with the beak can be pretty common when people who aren't very experienced try to hand feed. When chicks are young their beaks are much softer, if the hand feeder holds the beaks too firmly, or even presses too hard on the side of the beak with the syringe while feeding this will happen. Over time in most cases it will straighten itself out unless major damage is done. This baby does not look like it will be permanent.

My friend bought this baby bng, probably 4/5mths and its weaned started to eat fruits and solid food!! And I had notice his bng leg band ID was started JP xxxx with four digi numbers. So I ask around, was being told the baby bird is from Singapore bird park. So I think breeder should have experienced then outside breeder! And if a defected parrot, I don't even think breeder will sell to bird shop???

Poor little thing isn't defective! He/she isn't deformed either and there is no reason that bird wouldn't have been sold to a pet shop. It's just a little dent that doesn't make any impact on the birds eating or well being. He/she looks perfectly fine!

see the post " Phoenix the vicious rescue" for a video of my crooked beak mac.

Yes I think not a big impact on the baby!! And I told my frd, if u are parrot lover u should go for this! Reason for me is he/she too adorable!! And so far look good!! Active and eat well! But only result out is the poop kindly look very watery!! I will ask my friend send me at short video, and I will upload here.. Anyway in Singapore birdshop selling a bng at $2800, so mostly down here buyer always want a big size parrot, 100% no defected and healthy birds..

This the poops look normal!! And the 2 small feather?? This poops which last night I feed him fruits and veggie. Then the next moring the poops kindly so watery!! So I stop those wet food for being time to monitor it.. He on pellets and mix seeds.. Zupreen and prettybird brand..

These particular feathers are normal, my girl is loosing them too. Did you recently switch his diet? Was this the first time he had been offered those fruits and veggies? Quick changes in diet and new foods can often cause loose stools. So can changes in water.

His poo just looks a little nervous, He just had a huge change in his life, everything he knew has changed. Watch that he is eating and drinking and in a day or so it should look a bit better.

But it is really not that bad, My mac's poo looks similar but they eat lots of fresh fruit and veges.

Cut out the mixed seeds. Use them for treats only and give lots of fruit and veges with the pellets. Macaws can tolerate a lot of seeds in the diet only if the are getting plenty of exercise

This new baby bng just arrived to birdshop on fridY evening! So my friend bought him/her back on Sunday! So those birdshop normally feed pellets and sun flower seed. So my bring back and give eat mix seeds, and pellets. But no sun flower seed during that day! So on the evening Sunday, my friend when to give half of apple, grape, corn, peas, and carrot. All was cut into small pieces! And the poops started to be watery. So my guess here during at bird shop I think the poop also the same watery! So I had check with some of my friends, they mention should be find.. Ask my friend not to be worries...
