I'm sure there's a DIY thing somewhere online showing you how to make those.... :D

Michael agreed to me sharing some pics of my garden on his sweet thread. :)

So, here we go. Things are just now starting out. Much later than last year, and we had TONS of winter damage this year. :(

Here are some close-ups of annuals:

We paved the area of our bird feeding station and I just HAD to have this turtle

This is my Quincy's memorial plague. Quincy was buried in our garden. Please excuse the dried grass clippings)

Oh Wendy, your garden is gorgeous as well! Makes me not want to even look outside in my yard..
I was so touched by the beautiful stone memorial for Quincy. Brought tears to my eyes, what a beautiful reminder.

I'm drooling again:p. Wendy those pics are so gorgeous and I love the paved bird feeding station and the turtle:D. Did you keep that hibiscus going all winter in the house or is it new? really pretty. How did the brug make out over the winter? Alison

Thank you so much, Alison. :) The Tropical "tri" color hibiscus was a Mother's Day gift from my "guys", so it's brand spanking new. I hope that will fair better indoor over the winter than the brug did. :54: The brug was actually doing GREAT up until the middle of March. Then, literally overnight, it started sagging - like something was pulling the juice right out of the stems. I cut the affected areas off, but there was no saving it. Even the trunk turned into mush. :(

Oh no:(. I am so sorry are you going to try again? Down here the hibiscus grow well but every bug in Fla loves to eat and or infest them and mine always look rather ragged but they still bloom a lot.....Alison

No, I don't think I'll try brugs again. I was crushed when I lost mine. It had done phenomenally for me, remember? It grew SO quickly, I had SO many flowers for a first year plant. :(

I have to keep my eyes on this hibiscus, too. Japanese Beetles are quite fond of them, along with any other creepy crawlies. I blast the leaves regularly with water, washing all the nasties right off. :)

My.... the green thumb you have, Mikey! I absolutely adore your outdoor furniture. The bright colours of everything makes me so happy! And Wendy, my gosh. All I could do is sit here and be in awe of how pretty your garden is as well. I love the memorial... it's a beautiful idea. I come from a family where plants die within a week, so we've never really done much in regard to gardening. It's always such a pleasure to view others hard work and abilities!

I'm not the jealous type but Mikey, you and Wendy's lovely gardens make me a little green with envy. Thank you both for sharing. Wendy, I love those incredible blooms and Quincy's lovely memorial.

Wendy,

Beautiful garden as usual!!!! I got me a tree hibiscus this year as well....I think you can see it in one of the pictures. My gardenia is slowly sprouting out right now....once it's grown out I know where to trim off the die offs. Several of my plants are still trying to recover after this past winter but most did great. Except one of my outdoor hibiscus, it got ran over by the concrete truck last year while doing the patio, this year it got ran over by a bob cat. It have a tiny single little sprout, hopefully it'll recover. You remember those fire ball hibiscus I posted last year???

Here it is again....it should do better this year since I fertilized them and mulch all around it....the leaves are popping up huge on the existing ones except that last one that got ran over....

Joe, I'd call the color of my hibiscus "apricot". The other colors are yellow and red. So it's basically 3 different plants that were intertwined and turned into a tree. :)

Yes, Quincy has a real memorial stone. It's small. It's 9" X 14".

Mickey TN I love those dinnerplate hibiscus very pretty. I didn't realize you could grow gardenias in the garden where you live. Mine are almost done blooming, here they have to be grafted ones because of the nematoads in the soil. I also love the hibiscus cousin the rose of sharon that we used to grow up north and by the way Wendy the japanese beetles love those too.:)

They called it hardy gardenia. I got another kind last year too, it's also struggling to come back. As far as I know they're not grafted. At least they don't look like they've been grafted. You can usually tell when they're grafted.
