that's where I found the bird hut so your saying if they are on that site its safe

birdbreeders.com is a good source, but you should never assume anyone is safe because they sign up for an account on any site.

But, use their tools as a resource. Birdbreeders has a pretty good rating system, check those feedbacks from previous customers. Do a thorough online search for the name of the breeder you are considering. If they have a website and have LLC listed in the name of the breeding business, run them thru the better business bureau.

This is off topic, but if you are new to macaws, you may want to consider spending some time at a rescue, volunteer for a bit to get some hands on experience. You might even find your perfect new best friend there! We just met an amazing blue and gold macaw at the shelter we volunteer at. He is beyond an awesome bird, if we had the room for a macaw cage right now I know my daughter would want to adopt him in a heartbeat :)

Jen I am Trying to talk my husband into Getting himself that macaw right now LOLOL He want a blue and gold Macaw but wants to wait till our house is built this summer. I told him that bird will not be there this summer...Not sure what he will do but I am will to make the drive.

I am sure there wonderful blue and golds much closer to you then driving 14 hours up here! You would have to plan it as a vacation tho, cause the rescue requires multiple visits with the bird to ensue a good match :)

And after that, prepare to literally wrestle Victoria to get to his cage... she is sitting here yelling at you that no you're now allowed to adopt Max... :)

so If I search the net with his name and phone and site name and nothing bad come up and the bbb comes up too but its say Nashville not Dickson, TN so the bird hut should be safe and they use paypal so if it is a scam paypal give my money back right since its in the states and im in the states

I actually would be worried if nothing comes up for a bird breeder... I would expect to find something. Finding nothing is a worry as much as finding negative reviews.

But you need to do your research and vet out a potential breeder to answer all your questions and you are comfortable with that breeder. What I might have a problem with or question, you might accept as okay.

I also would be very hesitant to buy a baby macaw period, but that's just my opinion. Outside of too many wonderful birds needing homes, going thru puberty with a bird that has a beak the size of a macaw is nothing short of intimidating to me. I know what a nightmare the small birds were when they hit sexual maturity, I can only imagine taking on a macaw during those stages. But, that's not what the topic is, so sorry for getting off topic here!!!

I would encourage you to do as much homework as possible for breeders to make sure you found a serious, caring breeder and not someone who is just selling babies they purchased in a lot and are selling just for sake of making money. I would definitely want lots of positive feedback about birds health, how they are taken care of, as well as the breeders general business practices. Paying by paypal does not guarantee you won't get scammed and just a word of experience from my past, I had made a purchase (non bird) and paid by paypal, was not exactly a scam, but I filed a complaint about quality of the product. While paypal found in my favor, the seller had already transferred the money out of their account and while paypal said I was entitled to a refund, there was no money in the seller's account to refund back. That was a few years ago and paypal's policies about this type of situation may have changed. But again, do your homework to make sure you are protected and know exactly what you are getting into.

Good luck!

Your oly protected so long through paypal. My wife had ordered a replacement head rest for her car from a salvage yard online. They shipped the wrong one the first time then wrong color the second time. After the company stopped trying to fix the error and ignored our phone calls my wife tried to get her money back from paypal. Too much time had lapsed and paypal would refund the money. If you need to wait for bird to be weened any length if time be careful.

says he got 2 that are ready said they had alittle ruff tail feather from taking to bird show and they are not banded does that matter

No, it doesn't matter that the tail feathers are ratty, they will grow new ones over time. It also shouldn't matter that they're not banded.

Can he provide you pictures of the birds?

Have you called him and talked to him in person?

but the new cage I got wont ship till Monday sold one of the ones I have got one left and I still have to repaint the inside before I get the B&G quit smoke this last week that's fun got a dumb ? where I plain on putting the B&G at is in the living room its and L shape the tv 70 inch is in the big part and I was going to put the cage at the other end of the room you cant see the tv but you can hear it will that matter

Have you done your research on repainting a cage? And if you smoked in your house, you have some major cleaning to do before I would bring in any bird..

If you consider one of the ready babies, you said the baby has been to birdshows I would worry about testing, has he/she been vet checked including tests?

Not hearing tv will be positive if you are up watching tv late. Keep in mind you need to give this baby up to 12 hours of dark quiet sleep time.

not panting the cage the inside of the house cages are new and im a clean freak with kids it wouldn't be here for 3 more months paint at the being of may and every thing in the living room is new just bought it last week end and I have to put down new flooring cause we used to have hybred wolfs 2 of them and they eat holes in the floor and walls but one died and then the other died a month later they were really old if you left the house u had to put them out side or you had one hell of a mess when you got home so I have spots on the floor where there is no flooring in the basement

so I have to have a place where theres no sound for it to sleep my brother lives in town and its always loud he breds black labs and they all live in the house even if no one home cars trucks going by and fire trucks right next to him and his sleeps right though it I don't have surround sound in that room just a big tv and ps4 and xbox 1
